Guest guest
If the USA were democratic, how had they to react? They would bring up their best investigitors, search the responsibles, find them out and make them a fair trial. This would be the way for democratic states to react - however cruel this attack was. There is no right for democratic states to act in the way of revange. Thus they would place themselves on the same stage and the spiral of violence will never end. regards, Ilona
Guest guest
Dear Ilona, If I might dare to offer my opinion on this: There is grave fear (expressed also by our own Prime-Minister) that any one of these terrorist groups could mount a biological/chemical attack next (on any Western Country)...the threat of that is very real and the need to take action to prevent it is urgent. Such terrorism as this has to be stopped for the sake of the hundreds of thousands of innocent lives at potential risk. The World cannot stand back whilst this possibility manifests as reality. The cultural/philosophical/economic reasons behind this dreadful conflict between East and West are not easy to resolve and, in this present situation, impossible to resolve. But for now it's gone beyond the level of debate and has reached a point of very "terrible" consequences...the threat of germ warfare is very real and HAS to be addressed...URGENTLY!! I believe that the politicians are acting more out of fear (of this threat) than they are out of revenge. Rgds, Wendy >>If the USA were democratic, how had they to react? Guest guest
Dear Wendy, dear list, yes, there is fear. We are all afraid and the nerves are laying blank. On the other hand fear is not our best advisor. Also for the moment I cannot see a real advantage if they start a war. But what I see is the fact that most people believe there would be no other way. It is a bit like in the following story: A homeopath was called to a deathproned child. Many other allopathic doctors before gave their best but could not help. So the father would try at last and in his dispair a homeopath. The doctor came in and examined the child, then he took his books. Though the father was very much in fear and the child`s condition was really serious, he said: " Please take all the time you need, don`t hurry." The doctor worked out the right remedy - and the child convalescented. Wouldn`t this be a good way now? Best wishes, Ilona
