Guest guest
Dear List Members ~ I am writing today to comment on how I notice that the recent tragedy in the U.S.A. has affected our individual and collective psyche. This event has forced each of us to step outside of our daily routines and look deep within ourselves. The constant media coverage is sensationalizing this unprecedented change in the world and has super-imposed itself upon all 'regular' routines and television and radio 'programming'. We cannot turn on our favorite sit-com, (distraction from fear) so consequently, we are forced to feel and witness our fear and terror as well as see it reflected in each face and inside the words of every written and spoken communication. This heightens more fear and raises the collective anxiety level. The President of the USA has declared war on terrorism ... even in church, President Bush's words were ominous and threatening and sounded like the words of a back-alley bully. And every other country in the world is supporting his sentiments. Our leaders are reflections of ourselves. Life seems to be such a very sad farce. Besides, is it possible to fight fundamentalism with force? We each know in our hearts, and intellectually, that peace and love are the only chance we have for meaningful co-existence on our planet Earth and yet never before have we seemed further away from that reality. We are all worried about our safety and personal comfort, wondering how this war will effect our economies ... in North America, in particular ... we consume so much! There has always been an arrogance on the part of the educated, of the sophisticated, of those who have moved into the intellectual realm and in comparison, the people in war-torn countries are looked upon as children, and they are acting like children, but they are making a statement that must be heard. There is no separation between us. No one in any country wants to be poor, or outcast, uneducated or unappreciated. We each want to stand as equals. And they will fight and die until they are heard and admitted as equals. Energy follows thought. They represent the fearful part in everyone, the part that wants to get its needs met in the ways that others have, and cries out in that desire, and then starts to destroy until it gets what it needs. And that consciousness is not separate from any one of us. There is a part of each of us that fights in the hills of Beirut and that starves in the mountains of Afghanistan. It's all one. Their cry is simple. They want integration on a vaster scale. They are angry and with all due respect, they have much to be angry about. Perhaps this global uncertainty will have a positive out-come after all. Now that our way of life is truly threatened, it may force each of us to get our priorities straight and begin to live our lives in search of ways to increase our love and fullness of being, perhaps everything will turn around and Life will have more value to us than ever before. The human psyche can be used to do amazing things. More than ever before we must claim Enlightenment. We must act "as if" in order to realize it. How would we act if we were already Enlightened? What would it feel like? How would we treat other people? How would we approach any given situation? How would we approach our current events? As many moments as we each can remember to do so, let us go within and call on the God of our own understanding and the celestial help available and feel It and listen to It. The more of us who are willing to fill with Light and move out into the world with Light, the more the Light on the planet will increase. Think about it. It is why we came here. It is the journey and the end. No more postponements. Please, begin to know that you are the Love and that you are Light. God Bless each and everyone ... God Bless our dear Earth. God Bless the decision-makers in each country. Sincerely ~ Chandra Devi ~
