Guest guest
Hi! Esp. India-orientd! I cannot help thinking of Subhas Chandra Bose when I think of bin Laden. He too was celebrated, chose the path of violence to fight the British, collected an army and operated from the jungles and mountains. Is there any similarity in their charts?... Any who plays chess knows that the queen is the strongest piece and therefore the most vulnerable! Others worth comparing with: Robespierre, Khomeni, Lenin etc. All of them did not shy at violence to further their cause, killed thousands of innocent people. I see this not so much as a religious or merely terrorist movement bu as an attempted revolution of the poor against the rich. regards Mani

Yes the poor will benefit the more terrorist activities are persued through higher taxes ,taxation revenue being diverted from social programs to the military and security measures ,more destruction and chaos, higher insurance premiums ,more refugees and refugee camps .The Islamic religion will also benefit from a better public image . This is the saddest part of it. But the poor mised people do not realize this. Will they ever? regards Mani
Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah -------------------------- Dear Mani, Whose freedom is Bin Laden fighting for? Whose nation is he asking for a right to self rule? You cannot compare the two. BOSE: As regards siding with others, he had clearly told the Japs and others that they were going to lose the war and that the freedom of India will still come. Lenin led a revolution for his own land and for the self rule 'which he believed was the best' for his people. Is Bin Laden doing this for Saudi arabia? for whom is he doing what he is doing. We need a Rishi to tell him to ask his wives if they will share in his sin. Then he may change. Who is the poor? Why are you only confining the activities of Bin Laden against USA. Is India richer than saudi arabia? Are you aware that we have had a number of hunger deaths this year? Why is Bin Laden not fighting for India then if the fight is for the poor.. why the 'poor' afghani people. Is he demanding money for them. If not, what are his demands... Guest guest
Dear Mani, We can't carry this reasoning so far. Subhas Chandra bose fought to free his country, and I do not think anyone will say that it was morally wrong on India's part to fight for independence. Arjuna also fought for a cause, so is he the same as Bin Laden ? Just my 2 cents. Regards, Sunita. >subra >gjlist >gjlist >[gjlist] Re: Bin Laden -astrology >Sat, 15 Sep 2001 10:45:21 +0200 > >Hi! Arjuna also fought for a > cause, so is he the same as Bin Laden ? I was not equating them but comparing them: popularity, genius and choosing the path of violence for a cause, building up an army and fighting from the hills. Bin Laden is not fighting for fun or personal gain, believes he is fighting to "free the Moslem world from the infidel, who exploits the Moslems". We may have our opinions about him, but to assess his character and potential we have to see him as he sees himself and how the Moslem world sees him. As I heve already said somewhere, Bin Laden is not a "mad lover of violence" or a criminal. He is a fanatic Moslem, but also a person eith culture. He is MISGUIDED. And so was S.C. Bose: joining the axis powers was not in any way ethical. (In fact the independence demonstrations in bengal were far from ahimsa, and burning public transport, throwing bombs etc. continued even after independence, to protest soemthing or other.) So I thinkall these types must have something common in ther charts. ..... But this is useless talk, for bin Laden´s birthdata seem to be totally unknown! regards Mani PS: I wrote the letter yesterday, but later posts seem to confirm what I have said - and someone else has also brought up Bose in this connection.
