Guest guest
Hello list members, I need help. University Grants Commission has decided to introduce Astrology at Graduate and Post Graduate levels in Universities. There is an opposition to it by the so called Scientists who say it cannot be called a Science. In this connection I need a book, Confessions of an Optimist by Sir Woodrow Whyte. I tried to locate the book in Delhi and failed. In that Book Sir Woodrow Whyte (hope I am correctly spelling his name) has given sufficient instances to prove the efficacy of Astrology. I shall be grateful, if any of you can help me in this. best regards, Manoj _______________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

I went to Amazon.com and searched on "Confessions of an Optimist". Apparently it's out of print, limited availability. You might check to see if they can come up with a used copy. Try your own searches online as well to see if you can expand the possibilities. - "Manoj Pathak" <manojpathak <gjlist> Wednesday, September 05, 2001 11:38 PM Re: [gjlist] Appeal > Hello list members, > > I need help. Guest guest
Dear Sanjay, I know its introduction in various Universities in India. Chaudhry Charan Singh University has also started it besides the one you mention. Banaras Hindu University has been teaching the subject since Madan Mohan Malvia's days. Our fight is against the pseudo-scientists and since the very introduction, whether in science stream or arts stream, has been challenged in Supreme Court, we need evidence to prove that it works and its introduction should not be stopped in Universities. That is what we are working for. All major astrological institutions in India have sunk their differences and are fighting for this cause unitedly. It is now or never. So........... with best wishes, Manoj >"Sanjay Rath" <srath >gjlist ><gjlist> >Re: [gjlist] Appeal >Fri, 7 Sep 2001 10:38:15 +0530 > > >Om Gurave Namah >-------------------------- >Dear Manoj, >The couse has started in Lucknow university and Delhi university is going >to >start it from next academic session. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah -------------------------- Dear Manoj, The couse has started in Lucknow university and Delhi university is going to start it from next academic session. It is going to be in te Arts stream as spisituality is intricately wowen into Vedic Astrology and this part cannot be 100% scientific. I mean, i cannot have an equation that will tell when Bhagavn will be kind enough to grant Moksha to a tormented soul. While I can study the directions of worship, Ista etc from the chart. So, the scientists are right to some extent, but as a subject Jyotish should be there in the Universities. Best Wishes Sanjay Rath - Manoj Pathak <manojpathak <gjlist> Thursday, September 06, 2001 10:08 AM Re: [gjlist] Appeal > Hello list members, > > I need help.
