Guest guest
Dear IIona, Wendy, Robin, all, Bobbye is actually the chart of my mother. Originally, as she is not involved in astrology herself or quite understanding what I am doing with her personal information, she asked that I not give out information about who she is, which is understandable. Now that I've shared more with her about what we are doing, looking at, etc., she's decided it's fine that I do and I'm more comfortable discussing her as my mother. She has always told me that she lost her hearing in her left ear due to her and a boy colliding while running to get a drink of water at a fountain in early grade school. His elbow hit her ear hard and her eardrum was broken. I mentioned that from my understanding, a broken ear drum can repair itself and doesn't cause permanent damage normally. She said that she has been told this, but has never heard well in that ear since, and also remembers having ear infections always when she was very young, prior to this accident. She told me a sweet story when I asked again, remembering the boys face and name, all the details, but doesn't remember which grade she was in. We're guessing it would have to be 2nd or 3rd grade, which would make her around 7 or 8 years old. (I think we might even consider 6 years old and 1st grade possibly as well.) All through this time she was in Rahu Mahadasha. Rahu conjoins Venus in 1st house. It's an interesting chart. With Venus and Rahu in Gemini Lagna. Gemini Lagna is in Ardra, nakshatra Lord Rahu. Mercury has gone to the 12th house, Taurus. (Venus is in a Jupiter ruled nakshatra.) Sun and Moon are also in 12th and the Sun is in Moon's nakshatra. Moon and Mercury are in a Mars nakshatra, and Mars is debilitated in Cancer in her 2nd house and is himself in a Saturn ruled nakshatra. (The Moon was new just hours before her birth.) Saturn is retrograde in Scorpio, in His own nakshatra, aspecting all in the 12th from the sixth house. Saturn is in the house of a great enemy. The aspects and degrees are also interesting, with Saturn R at 11/ 9' aspecting 3rd house, Leo, as well as His direct aspect on the 12th placed Sun. Sun is at 16/ 18'. (How are you writing the degree symbol? I've heard press alt then the pad numbers 248 - at best this works inconsistently for me :-) This debilitated Mars is also aspecting Taurus from rasi dristi. (Also, a Jupiter rasi dristi aspect from Pisces onto 1st house, Gemini.) Also, to add Wendy's words here: >>>>Just to keep it as simple as possible without too much confusion...(the danger of intellectualising myself into insanity is perilously near)...this is what I was taught right from the beginning: 1. The part of the body represented by the bhava (or sign) can be afflicted if it's occupied by a malefic.... 2. The part of the body represented by a benefic (graha) can be afflicted if it occupies a dusthana (or is otherwise afflicted).... Both 1 and 2 are happening here in her chart. And Wendy, I had to smile at your words in quotes above. I hope you are getting REST. I visited her on February 15th this year for about 5 days and she had broken her hearing aid, was waiting for a new one that didn't arrive as expected, then arrived after I left. She was in Me/Sa/Ke/Ma and Me/Sa/Ke/Ra while I was there, and just after my leaving the hearing aid did arrive in Me/Sa/Ke/Ju. Separately from her loss of hearing, it's an interesting chart to note that she lost her father tragically on May 16, 1939. IIona, this is interesting: >>>In his prenatal stage an eclipse ocured on 19°36 sagittarius. So we could expect, that this degree would have been triggered on may 12th or 13th. When you look at his transits you will see MERCURY passing 19° taurus and thus rasi jupiter in the morning of may 13th. He ran jupiter rahu MERCURY moon. The moon passed another sensitive degree, namely 10° capricorn and so "opened" another prenatal eclipse on 10° capricorn. This degree has just been activated due to neptun`s station in oct 2000 on 10° and due to an eclipse in his 1st house on christmas 2000 also on 10°! I am not familiar with this at all. Can you explain this a bit more? - Please, it's facinating. I would look before his birth at the Moon stages? I have no prior knowledge of Western astrology. Is this a technique that is used in Western and/or something you find works for you when when are looking at charts? (Or something I've just missed that is used in Jyotish?) It's very interesting here. Also: Though you perhaps want to ignore neptune, this planet obviously plays a role in this man`s horoscope, because he formed an exact opposition to natal neptun on 14°03 cancer and exactly within a quinqunx ( this aspect often indicates illness!) to transit rahu on 14°53 gemini, a MERCURY ruled sign and the natural 3rd house. I do look at the outer's. I have found them helpful for me but as I said above, without any knowledge of Western, I don't use them in a big way or know their many uses in western astrology. I have only applied them in smaller ways, noting them and their significators. This aspect you mention above, "quinqunx" is a western term, correct? And: >>>Rahu and moon in regards of pus; mars and sun in regards of inflammation, perhaps also jupiter, being a hot planet. Does he too much? too much pus, too much inflammation...?; venus has to be observed in regards of vertigo, - perhaps mucus also - and saturn rules calcifination or malnutritition of the hearing nerve; uranus makes interruptions and neptun muddles or deadens hearing; pluto rules caverns, thus scorpio with coruler pluto is often involved.... Above, looks like a word is missing when you're asking "Does he too much?" ;-) It's interesting though as he has been suffering from some kind swelling and inflammation in his ankle area for the past nine months or so, maybe more. And 'they' expect it to continue for him. He has to use a lot of care now with this, and then it has a lessoned effect. If interested, I'll get the details. He is a large man, has been very healthy other than this loss of hearing due to flying those loud planes. Very fortunate in many ways. And up until just recently, like the last year, he has still always played basketball with my sons, skied down hills I wouldn't go near, and all while still into his 80's, as well as doing the "haying" where he lives until the past 5 or so years. Thanks for these details here. In Braha's last book, he makes a big case on the positive effect of stationary planets and uses JFK's chart. He even states that he feels that JFK would not have lived as long as he did without his stationary Mercury, even though it's in his 8th house. My father in law has a nearly stationary Jupiter and Pluto close to stationary as well. James has under 'Positive Planetary Priorities', number 1 - Stationary Direct or Stationary Retrograde "Beats everything". I hadn't heard that and wonder if you and others feel the same way about stationary planets. So far it has been helpful and useful for me since reading this. Thanks for all this. Soooo incredibly interesting and helpful to see all this loss of hearing so clearly in these charts. I hope this information helps. Guest guest
Dear Patrice, you asked for some clarifications of eclipses and the moon`s stages. in his book "Astrology of Death", Richard Houck worked with the so called PEs, the prenatal eclipses. He found them very valuable as those sensitive points, playing a role in important things of life. May it now be disease, accidents or even marriage or gaining in a lotterie. He supposed to fetch out these degrees and just writing them in the native`s chart formular. You will find the date of conception in your GJ program under feature and then various basics ( normal pregnancy). Then you can either look in Houck`s little ephemeris of the outer planetary stations and eclipses or you look in your program under feature and then eclipses of the moon. You can type the two dates: day of conception and day of birth and then you`ll see all the new and full moons and the eclipses of the time of pregnancy. If you take the orbe of 1° degree or lesser, you`ll discover many hidden relationships between these sensitive points and the rasi - or the transitting planets. Depending on the houses where these exact connections of degrees will occur and where the planets are sitting, what they aspect and so on you can try to estimate the result. So, in our examples of deafness we might be able after some time of watching and comparing to come to the right result. Regarding mercury, the ear ruling houses and the other planets as mentioned earlier. When someone is determined to become very ill, you will often see, how the moon is preparing this path some months before by triggering some special degrees of the native, may it now be a planet, a house cusp, the axes or his PEs. Until now, I´m also a beginner and over all I´m a researcher. Houck`s book was my first astrology book and thus influenced me. I took the part of medical astrology because this interests me very much and I hope I will be able to work out some correct diagnoses when I´m more experienced. Your question about Jupiter: I wanted to say: "Does Jupiter act too much?" in the sense of Jupiter`s habit to crown it all. If for example there is too much production of pus in the ear the tympanum will burst. Quincunx is a 150° degree aspect (the button over the ctrl- button will make °) and its a kind of tension aspect between the planets. Perhaps thus a quincunx will often be seen in charts of illness and death. I am very pleased about the ongoing of our discussion and I hope it will be a gain for us in regards of further judging in ear matters. Thanks to your mother for her kindly help. Best wishes, Ilona
Guest guest
Dear IIona, Thank you much for all your explanation and clarifying...... I will read Houck's book. This research is of great interest to me, researching any medical astrology. You've got a great start and are making gains here with correlations with respect to hearing and ears. Go, go... it's great to see. Much appreciation for your sharing this. All best regards, Patrice
