Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I'm pasting a letter here I got from a friend. This is my good friend, who is involved in reviving the Hare Krishna based rock/pop music that used to be a big part of the movement years ago. These are very professional musicians, and excllent music. If you read this, you'll see that you can listen to and download songs for free. So if you're interested in pop music with lyrics directly about being devoted to the Supreme Lord, which is Hindu based rather than Christian based, here's one answer for you. -------------- Hi Everyone... Performances... Since May of this year, Michael Cassidy, aka Mangalananda has played 7 festival concerts, including the Nrsimhadev farm outside of Munich, Germany, the Los Angeles Annual Prabhupada Festival, Rathayatra festivals in Atlanta, New York and New Vrndavana, the Utah Vedic Temple opening, and the 8th and final festival in Alachua, Florida on Radhastami weekend, Aug 25th. All of the concerts were successful beyond expectations for both the band and the audiences. Many shows ended in roaring kirtans. The band is booked to play each of these festivals again for next year. These shows were officially billed as... Michael Cassidy & The Change of Heart Band. The band members are... Michael Cassidy - Mangalananda - vocals, guitar Ron Marinelli - Uttamasloka - guitar, vocals Gerry Snoddy - Gayatri - trumpet, percussion, vocals Radha Gopinatha Marinelli - tablas, percussion Matthew Newman - Matsya Avatar - bass For the upcoming Alachua festival, we're going to have a new band member sitting in... Deva Deva, who plays keyboards, alto sax, flute, oboe, violin, cello, viola and a few more, including singing! Not only that, he's a ballet dancer and choreographer, and is getting his degree in composing and arranging! Next year we are planing for more concerts with an expanded 2 hour show, which will include new songs from Michael's new CD (to be recorded in LA in Oct/2001 at Blue Monsoon Music Studio). The show will also include original songs from Ron and Gerry. MP3.com... You can now hear all of Michael Cassidy's songs on MP3.com at this address... http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/288/michael_cassidy_aka_mangal.html You can also go to http://www.mp3.com and search for Michael Cassidy or Mangalananda. There's another Michael Cassidy from Los Angeles, so make sure you choose the right one. All of the songs from all 4 albums are there... Change of Heart, Beyond Illusion, Nature's Secret, and Take Me Back. You can listen in LoFi or HiFi, depending on your connection speed. The lyrics are all there too. For those who don't know, MP3 is a special type of compression that allows you to store a song in a much smaller file size. There is an actual reduction in the sound quality, but most people can't tell the difference between an MP3 and the original CD, because it's very good. You can also buy MP3 CD's of the original albums... Beyond Illusion, Nature's Secret and Take Me Back. There are 2 versions. One version is an actual CD in a jewel case ($12 US) and the other is just a download of the MP3 music files to your computer ($10 US). If you just download the songs, you can then play them on your computer, move them to a portable MP3 player or burn your own compilation CD. These CDs are available from the MP3 website listed above. Of course, you can still buy the original CDs (Change of Heart and The Best of Michael Cassidy) right from http://www.BlueMonsoonMusic.com, in full CD quality sound. We want everyone to at least listen to the songs on MP3.com. It's free for you and we make a little something too (support your local artists ;-). You can set up your own "My.Mp3.com", where you can transfer songs for your on-going listening pleasure. All free. Please feel free to send this newsletter to anyone you think might be interested and let us know what you think. Thanks. Ron Marinelli... Guest guest
>Dear Das Thanks for this tip. They sound pretty good. Does Lost At Last do a similar thing with MP3 files? Marcia
Guest guest
Hello Lost at Last SHOULD do that. It would be big for them. I think they'd sell alot. Maybe I'll call them. I have the number. They could work with the others, who have started "krishna music .com" to promote all this. LAL fits teh bill surely. Good idea. I'll let them know. Thanks, -- Das Goravani 2852 Willamette St # 353 Eugene OR USA 97405 or Fax: 541-343-0344 "Goravani Jyotish" Vedic/Hindu Astrology Software
