Dear Marcia,

significators for dreams are neptune, (so pisces, the 12th house too), the

moon and the 9th house and sagittarius.

I got this out of the book: "dictionary of significators in astrology" by

P.K. Sarna and U. Taneja. They also say, that we always should prove their

signifacators and write to them about our experiences.

regards, Ilona

Hello Ilona,

I'm well aware that there are some astrologers (using Vedic principles) who

refer to the outer planets, the fact is however that they have no significant

role in (traditional) Vedic astrology, i.e; they are not the karaka of anything,

have no (traditional) house rulership, and have no place in the dasa system. I

too started out with Western astrology, but had no difficulty leaving Western

behind once I discovered Vedic astrology....Vedic is unique in that it does

indeed concern itself with the reality of "Soul" hidden beneath this mask of

"karma".

The advice given by Visti and Paul in regards to diet is sound...with 12th

lord's dispositor (Moon) fallen in 2nd house (partaking of wrong food and

drink), this is obviously an area of the native's life that may be

problematic....placing the native under the care of a competent Ayurvedic

practitioner would certainly be advisable...further to that one needs to

consider the conditions (in Rashi) that are related to (permanent) atma karaka

(Sun) and to adjust one's lifestyle to be in harmony with this. Taking powerful

drugs to subdue the mind and intellect or to replace lost hormones is (in my

opinion) placing the soul deeper in darkness.

In regards to sleep and dreams being seen from different houses.

SLEEP: is seen from 12th house as this is the house of "loss"...this implies all

losses including loss of boundaries, i.e; boundaries of consciousness,

geographical boundaries, moral boundaries, etc...in sleep of course we cross the

boundary of wakefulness.

DREAMS: are seen from the 9th house because it's the 10th from 12th. Our actions

during wakefulness are seen from the 10th house and our actions whilst dreaming

are seen from the 9th house...this is the traditional teaching.

To read from a book that this is this and this is that is one thing, to

understand the reasons why is another...many modern authors write many different

things.

Regards,

Wendy

Dear Wendy,

this is one reason because I like the list: a fruitful discussion. There

might be different views regarding the outer planets. I have not been a

"western" before. I was nothing, just being influenced through my first

book, "the astrology of death". As I mentioned some times before, I like

Hahnemanns saying: "prove all and keep the best."

I am autodidact. So most of my sources are books. But I am critical too,

always searching rectification.

Regarding "the hard drugs" I agree with you and only use "spiritual doses".

Nevertheless I had patients, - often they underwent rahu-dasa, where I gave

my best and could not help. My thoughts now are because of rahu being a

demon, perhaps "demonical help" is inevitable in those cases - if I like it

or not.

Best wishes, Ilona

To avoid misunderstanding that should read; "our actions whilst SLEEPING are

seen from the 9th house"

DREAMS: are seen from the 9th house because it's the 10th from 12th. Our

actions during wakefulness are seen from the 10th house and our actions whilst

dreaming are seen from the 9th house...this is the traditional teaching.
