Dear Renee,

The picture would be clearer if we could look at the chart proper. Giving

the birth data is quicker for you (than typing all the planets positions)

and certainly assists the astrologer to view ALL the relevant information.

Having read all the recent posts on the use of Gems, why not have a go at it

yourself and put your findings up. There are many experienced astrologers on

the list who (I'm sure) will graciously point out any errors and guide you

in the right direction :-)))

All this talk of remedials and it begins to look as though Astrologers read

a horoscope with the sole objective of prescribing a gem...this is not (or

should not) be so. There are many other areas where the astrologer's advice

is valuable.

Knowing how to determine the native's Prikriti and, if present,

Vrikriti...advising on diet (suitable to that native) to balance the

doshas...advising on what precautions to take in certain areas of life; when

certain activities are more favourable than others, etc...

Not everyone is in a position to afford expensive gems...the astrologer

should hone his skills in order to give the best advice possible...often

negative circumstances (aspects) can be counteracted by a change in

lifestyle, diet, meditation...

To focus entirely on one area takes away from the richness of remedials

available.

To advise a native of his "lucky stone" is a good thing to do, but sometimes

there may not be an (altogether) lucky stone to suggest. If in doubt DON'T,

is a good rule of thumb.

Regards,

Wendy

PS:

To my mind, the (ultimate) role of the Astrologer is to help his client

understand his karma and, through this understanding, enliven the conscious

awareness of his true Self (beyond karma).

Dear Wendy,

for my opinion you are completely right. Instead of asking for some kind of

"cooking recipe" to relieve the circumstances of life, it would be better,

firstly to reflect about them and then trying to find a deeper

understanding.

This does not mean to me that we have always to say " yes, thank you very

much for the troubles", but to make some own efforts.

I imagine the following picture: if some day we are asked "how did you

master your life?" could we then answer: "oh, I wore an emerald, to make all

job affairs easier..."

In homeopathy we are told to give NO remedy if we are not sure! We have to

wait and to observe or to leave our patient in somebody´s care, who might be

better in this case.

So, I fully agree with you, to let our fingers away from half-truth and to

make some efforts to understand. For this group it could mean, to WORK OUT

the gem oneself und to discuss this choice afterwards with the more learned

for example.

I am fully aware that there exist many, many hard trials on our earth and I

believe that we have to help if possible, but I don`t like this kind of

consuming, as if it were our right to get all "in sleep".

So, let us share our experiences and let us work together, the masters and

the students.

All these immense discussions about remedies, nuritition and so on are

showing one thing to me: most of us are only looking for some kind of

improvement concerning their own circumstances of life. This is human and

understandable. But it´s not enough!

My suggestion for this group would be to connect these desires with the

willingness to improve our all knowledge. <Jai Mataaji ( The Spook) made a

very good beginning here.>

Best wishes, Ilona
