Guest guest
Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!! Namaste dear sister Wendy!! my heart goes out to you dear sister over your son....might i suggest the all-purpose Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra Japa Sadhana...that won't cost anything...Ben Collins i think it is on another list, is a member of a group that puts on groups yagnas regularly, for about $50 US...permonth...and he apparently has a cd copy of the yagna chants, and the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra...He says it is effective to do it for someone else, and that there has been some really interesting results from the yagnas..... if you are worried about his health, i would definitely suggest the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra...it's the great saver from Death..the conqueror of death, as it evokes Lord Siva, who is Kala, the lord of time.... you could also yourself, do regular worship of the Devi (or Siva Bhairava) in whatever Form you might love Her...of course for protection you might prefer one of the fiercer forms such as Mother Durga, or Mother Kali....both of whom are so sweet to their devotess and exceedinly fierce to the Rakshasas in protecting their devotees....so the idea here is to take refuge, utter refuge at the feet of theLord, or the Divine Mother, the Beloved Deity, while sharing with Her your fears, and needs...saranagati is the key...for this one can practice to sing the 108 names of the Devi, as are laid out in the M.A. Center Puja book....you could even do the pujas...and in a certain section offer up the puja for the benefit of the whole world, while visualising and including your son in the prayers.... Also you can do Swami Sivananda Radha's Divine Light invocation, while intuitively seeing the corresponding realities... i am created by divine light, i am sustained by divine light, i am protected by divine light, i am surrounded by divine light, i am ever growing into divine light. this prayer and visualisation, which is actually a Yoga sadhana, was given to Swami Sivananda Radhaji in the 1950's just after she had been given the orders of Sannyasa...and had been in a hermitical retirement outside of the ashram...in an ancient ruins.....there was a knock on the door, and she was momentarily annoyed as she didn't want to have to explain why she a western woman from Canada by way of Germany, would want to be in India...and she knew that was the usual trip.... but when she answered the door, it was Mahavatar Babaji of Yogananda fame....Who she invited in and offered tea...they were talking a little when suddenly he yelled TIGER!! Radhaji froze in terror...instantly TOTALLY alert.....after a couple more seconds, Babaji relaxed and said..."no tiger" but that's how one should be when meditating....totatlly alert...on the edge of the breath....then he proceeded to initiate her into this Divine Light Invocation...in English and Hindi, or possibly Sanskriti...he gave her the mission to teach it everywhere, except to liars...So She initiated many many folks into this Divine Light invocation...i have been to their Ashram and participated in the group sessions....there's a little of Yoganandaji's "energisation" exercises as a part of the invocation...but it is truly a powerful sadhana....you can actually FEEL the Divine light descending into and onto, and thru you...until you feel yourself to be nothing but Divine light itself.... in the Divine Light invocation we practice inhaling the Loving sakti as Divine Light, and exhaling the loving light surrounding your loved one in that cocoon of light... one can also do a Ma Om meditation in which we inhale on the sound Ma.....and exhale on the sound OM......... as we inhale on the sound Ma, think of the fact that we are actually inhaling Divine Love...which is Ma..... and as we exhale on the sound OM we may think on the Divine light emerging from the entire body but most strongly from the ajna chakra (third eye)....and flowing everywhere to the ends of the universe...but particularly embracing, in a loving cocoon of light, your own endangered son.... another technique from the Tibetans is similar but a variation, in which as one inhales, one imagines that one is inhaling all the negative karmas, and the illness which we visualise coming out of our relative's body as a dark oily smoke......we feel ourselves inhaling that smoke of the son's illnesses....and we feel that smoke filling us up entirely, and transmuting into Divine light...until the entire body is full of this divine Light....and one then exhales this Divine Light, thru again the third eye, visualising it travelling in a great stream to the ill person, and wrapping around him in a clockwise fashion...forming a helix of a cocoon or light, which then continues on out of the top of his head in a silver stream of light, connnecting with the entire consciousness in the creation.....one does this for as long as one likes...the longer the better....and strangely enough you, the "helper" definitely feel better for doing this sadhana.... i hope some of these might be of some help...if i can be of any further aid please don't hesitate to to write. In the Divine Mother's Love, and in Her Service as ever, your own self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!
