Guest guest
Dear Sundari, Das, Renee, Patrice, et al, The question of karma vs Free Will is extremely complex and I think there's no clear (black/white) answer. There are indeed many who suffer greatly in this life. Some may be fortunate enough to receive the kind of good help offered by dedicated people like Renee and turn their lives around, whilst others will not. I believe however that both scenario's will be reflected in the horoscope. Even in the charts of enlightened ones we will see that "enlightenment" too is predestined. Those who benefit from remedial measures will have strong 9th house (yagyas/remedial measures, etc)...those opposed to such remedies will obviously not utilise them, or be able to utilise them. I've studied the charts of such people and find that they invariably have malefics either in or aspecting the 9th. Those who have vivid NDE (like myself & Renee) will have powerful 8th house (experience of death) indications. Even great yogis who practice siddhis and can (reportedly) manifest what they will...positive thinking at it's finest, subtlest, most profound level...will have powerful indications of this in their horoscope. I have often said that whilst we have little control over our (embedded) karma, we can make the conscious choice to practice Ahimsa, thereby planting the seed for (good) future karma. But is not this decision making process also predestined? Look to Mercury (intellect) and Moon (mind) and you will see even the type of decisions we make in this regard are determined, with the outcome reflected in 12th house...state after death. If our destiny were not pre-ordained (was subject to manipulation) then no jyotish could read a horoscope. Knowing these things how can we ever sit in judgement of anyone...even the Sadam Hussein's and Timothy McVaine's (sorry if spelling's not correct) of this world are powerless to resist their karma. The message I get from all the great religious teachers is that this "dream" that we've created is indeed set in stone...but like any dream it quickly fades to nothing when we "wake up". I am a new student and have a very long way to go but this kind of discussion fascinates me. I can't wait till I have a good enough grasp to study enough charts and see if this holds up across the board with a variety of charts. I work for the government and have always been around strong authoritarian type people who have either been in the military, gov't, law enforcement or medicine and all 'have' to make judgments (including myself) in regards to cases and experiences ('who is guilty and who is not'). Maybe the lesson for 'us' ...those who must make judgments...is to do it in a non-attached and impartial state of mind without bias...I don't know. I try to be as fair as possible and always think of 'what if this were me?' would I not want a second chance? Mercy? Maybe we abused a position of power in another life and are back to learn what authority is...walking a tightrope in terms of 'the law'. I don't like it one bit. I feel like a free spirit who suddenly got saddled with a ball and chain on planet Earth and I can't wait to get back to the Milky Way....<grin>. It doesn't feel 'natural' to be in this position, ya know? Honestly though, we really should not 'judge' in a malicious fashion those who 'appear' to do a horrendous act of violence. Being someone who feels we should help such people with some kind of therapy....well...I would not want to be judging in a court of law. We have this case here in America right now of a mother who drowned her five children due to post partem psychosis (not depression...psychosis...there is a difference) and honestly, I feel so sorry for her. The 'judgments' going on across the country are as harsh as the crime. I have to walk away when I hear coworkers and others go on and on about it. Leave it to Divine Will is my feeling on the subject. Love and Light... Renee
Guest guest
Dear Renee, Don't fret that your line of work calls on you to make judgements...this is the work you do. Das was right when he said Jupiter is the planet concerned in such matters. Jupiter is the planet of justice...and of course justice is needed in this world...without which we'd have total chaos. As is their destiny, people in authority are often called upon to make decisions that will influence other's lives. I think I could have chosen my words a bit more wisely in my previous post and differentiated between the often critical tendencies of intellectual reasoning (Mercury) and the necessary judicial system (Jupiter) that maintains law and order...hopefully!
