Guest guest
Dear Yogesh, My understanding is that it is used for Saturn as he is Mrithyukaraka. It is a Saivaite mantra and can save one from the malefic effects of the Mrithyukaraka. Guest guest
Dear Manoj, Mahamritunjaya is used for afflicted health in the chart. Since moon governs the health of the native(life force), fasting on mondays and prayers to Lord Shiva with Mahamritunjaya mantra is a powerful remedy for ill health. Venus governs Sanjivani mantra, and is given a power to beat the death. If venus is afflicted in the chart particularly in D-30, trimsamsa chart of evils, health troubles will come Best wishes, Zoran Manoj Pathak wrote: > Dear Narinder, > > Can you specify for which Planet Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is to be used. > > Manoj > > >"Narinder Juneja" <pbk > >gjlist > ><gjlist> > >[gjlist] Remedial . > >Wed, 20 Jun 2001 09:59:19 +0530 > > > >Dear Wendy, > > > >There are different mantras for different malefic planets, mahamrityunjaya > >is one of them. > > > > > >With Best Wishes > > > >Narinder Juneja > >www.mywebastrologer.com > > > > > > > >gjlist- > > > > > > > >Your use of is subject to > > > > > > _______________________ > Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. > > > gjlist- > > > > Your use of is subject to
Guest guest
> Mahamritunjaya is used for afflicted health in the chart. Since moon governs > the health of the native(life force). Dear Zoran, Isn't that role (life force/health) more attributed to Sun than to Moon? To my mind Moon's great importance is it's governance of mind...the door through which our karma manifests. Sun, as significator of Self, governs the physical body as well as the smaller self (ego) and the inner self (soul). Correct me if I'm wrong but this is my understanding. Guest guest
Dear Wendy, You are also right that sun rules physical body as well. However, the seed of karma lies in chitta, which manifests as manas or mind, while diseases are nothing but sins commited in previous births(do see Prashna Marga), so all diseases are naturally seen in bad karma while as you stated as well, mind (moon) carries karmic impressions. Futhermore, moon governs fluid and blood, and fluids form the most part of the body, even 60-70 %. From jyotisha point, chandra is enemy to none, and as a mother of all creation she is responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of all creatures. Chandra is also exalted in taurus which is 2nd house of natural zodiac, thus strong chandra is always capable of removing marak effects on the body. Being debilitated in 8th house of natural zodiac it can remove life force. However, you are right that sun in addition to mars rule physical force and give vitality. Nevertheless, the root of most illness lies in the mind, as modern medical scientific approach suggests, that most of diseases are created in mind.. Hope it helps Zoran. Guest guest
Hello Zoran, Thanks. But I knew this. I had only put this question to him because he had said that "different mantras are used for each planets and mahamrityunjaya is also one of them". Mrityunjaya mantra is not for any planet, it is for general well being and happiness, to ward off evils and ill effects in life. Lord Shiva is the deity governing these areas. There is a couplet in Japu ji Saheb, one of the scriptures of Sikhs where it says, "Eko mai, jugato bihai, tin chele parvan, ek sansari, ek bhandari, ek lave diwan". Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are the deities being remembered in this. And these are the people who are only capable of warding off any evils in life. So lets pay our prayers to them. Guest guest
Dear Zoran, It really boils down to an individual understanding I guess. We can certainly give importance to Moon as the vehicle of karma (the starting point of vimsottari dasa), however when it comes to determining one's physical strength and general well-being (vital force), Sun is the planet one generally looks to. Of course everything manifests through mind, but attributing Sun's significations to Moon is no different from attributing Venus' or Mars', etc...we don't say that Moon governs love (VE) or energy (MA)...it's in this vein that I pointed to Sun as governing health/vital force rather than Moon :-) Best Regards, Wendy > Dear Wendy, > You are also right that sun rules physical body as well. Guest guest
Dear Wendy I agree about the Sun's role of vitality and general wellbeing. However, the moon if afflicted gives balarishta, not the sun... The main varga for health and longevity is Trimsamsa, D-30.. apart from Rashi/Navamsa. Have you ever thought of why no signs belong to luminaries in D-30?(sign divisions are assigned to 5 grahas, not surya nor chandra)? In a way each graha rules some certain aspect of health, but the moon is the most important, than comes sun, then venus and mars which rule exaltation signs of the moon and the sun respectively. Therefore, venus tends to exalt moon, and sanjivani mantra gives purification of bad karma by removing evils from mind(moon). At Shri Jagannath Vedic Centre in India, one Jyotish guru is currently working on medical aspect of jyotisha. I am also writting some materials on the subject and will let you know as soon as the results are reached..
