There are rules to find out the stronger who qualifies as the lord. This has been clearly explained by Parasara in BPHS. Jaimini was one of his students who specialized in sign based dasas. So its not a Jaimini rule. >What's interesting to me as a non-Jaimini astrologer (!), is There is nothing known as non-Jaimini astrologer, may be you do not use Rasi Dasas which Jaimini specialized in. > that the Rahu-Moon aspect is so close -- only 1* orb. Chris, When we talk about divisional charts there are no degrees involved according to *me*. The degrees are properties of planets. Now every divisional chart(D1 included) has their own mapping rule. For example in D1, each zodiac sign is made up of 30 degrees. Hence there is a one-to-one mapping. Hence graha dristi, orbs, and other aspects are applicable. In other divisional charts the mapping rules are not one-to-one. In D9, every sign is reduced to 3d 20m. So in short I do not use graha dristi & other aspects in divisional charts except for rasi dristi. But what you could say is "Moon is aspected by Rahu through rasi dristi" which is perfectly right. So the question is why did not Rahu/Moon give the native foriegn travel. I think there are specific rules that should be applied to MahaDasas, another set of rules for AntaraDasas and entirely unique blend of rules for PratyAntaraDasas. I just know one of them, taught by Pt. Sanjay Rath, known as Rath's rule. For judging Mahadasa use Sun as reference point. For judging AntaraDasa use Moon as the reference point. For judging Pratyantara Dasa use Lagna as reference point. In the puzzle posted, Rahu/Mars/Saturn was running. In D-4, Rahu is with Sun. Mars is in 12H from Moon. Saturn afflicts the 4H from Lagna. Saturn also aspects 12H from Lagna. > Tell me, do you pay attention to the degrees of these sahams? Yes, I do pay attention to degrees of Sahams.
