It is because people have other obligations that most will not be spending

more than an hour or two on a chart. That's why I still feel a week is

sufficient. If they can't find the time within a week, then it's likely

they won't find the time over a month either.

nes on the last day, but give the answer separately. Since we want only to

Yeah, obviously this is a good point. But then again, wrong guesses can be

based on good astrology just as right guesses can be based on bad astrology.

for how much can I

I don't think there's a formula here that one can "look for". Sure it

would be nice if the quizzes helped us concentrate of the simpler and more

effective techniques and avoid those that didn't work. But more often I

suspect that it is what one does with the various tools that leads to a

correct prediction. But you make a good point nonetheless.

Oh dear! That's a shame Pursottam. It's standard practice elsewhere to

post the place of the event as this is part of the western tradition where

relocated charts are required. Obviously, the place of the event is used

loosely in the case of travel. In that case, it would refer to the place of

departure!

I would like to agree with you here, that these are purely learning

exercises but, alas, we live in the real world of egos, money, and original

sin.:-) In case you weren't aware, these lists are arenas of commerce as

well as avenues of learning. Lists now function as a sort of advertising,

a bit like books and articles in magazines do. They raise the public

profile and get the name of the astrologer out to potential clients.

People who post here can gain reputations and can boost their profile in

the astrological community. Those with the power to impress get requests

for readings, often for cold hard cash. That's fine by me. But we need to

be aware that ulterior motives can lurk beneath the surface. I recently

learned, for example, that a former list member was engaging in a highly

unethical use of astrology for personal advantage. Sadly, astrology is not

immune to the shortcomings of human character.

Yes, I agree that it's always better to offer other events for

rectification purposes. But at some point, you have to just go with what

you've got. I know I've fallen into the trap of over-scrunitizing a chart

time at the expense of losing sight of what's really going on. Anyway,

it's a great skill to be able to read charts correctly using birth times

that might be a few minutes off. Some astrologers can make correct

predictions with only the birthday(ie using the chandra lagna), and I think

this was the norm in days gone by. In any event, since I'd like to use

this chart again for quiz 2, Zoran and all others interested in

rectification now have an event they can use.

Dear Chris,

Not who, OK, but how was the person doing that?

I knew a licensed psychologist who was using (Western) astrology to

frighten patients into depending on her and getting more and more charts

done--actually turning a person I know into a Saturn- and Pluto- phobic! I

read the chart "interpretations"-- you never saw such self-serving --well

fortunately, words fail. The client (who seriously needs psychological

help) actually thinks Saturn and Pluto are going to "get" her; you can barely

have a conversation with her she is so convinced that she is doomed. The

psychologist came to our meditation group (to find more cash cows?) and the

weird thing was I has such a visceral reaction to her I had to leave--meaning

she made me feel like I was going to have to barf--even before I knew who she

was. Not one person in our group could stand her and we all felt guilty

about it! Fortunately she was just out to try to find "disciples" and when

nobody would let her tell us what to do, she buzzed off. (well, we let her

talk but we didn't do what she said)

She joined up with some other whacko psychologist who eventually got run

out of town (defrauding medicare & victim's assistance).

Now I hope I don't need help because I have a psychologist phobia!

Anyway was it like that kind of thing?

Just curious.

Namaste,

Robin
