Guest guest
Killing is for when there is no alternative. Obviously, we have alternatives. Killing a person in vengeance in this sanitized way or in any way, when we are such a large and structured society full of options, is only a sign of past ignorance still masquerading as social conscience, allowed to remain amongst us only by our collective insecurity about voicing our indignation over it. Capital punishment is possible only because we do it to ourselves. As within without. On the eve of another legitimized murder, I just wanted to voice clearly and completely my total disagreement with capital punishment in American society or any society. These are not Vedic times, we are not Vedic people, and all the reasons for using CP back then, actually serve to make us not employ it in this age, in my opinion. These are my words to Hindus etc who remember it from their own cultures current and past. I believe this is the age of mercy. I could write extensively as to why I believe this way. I will spare you. It has to do with what is the highest position we can take currently which is realistic spiritually for us as individuals and people. The commitment of spiritual progress in this age brings with it an element of acceptance, tolerance, and mercy more so than previous ages. Comparing is useless. We must follow the way of Kali Yuga. Mercy. Compassion. Tolerance. These are the main requirements. I believe it is very bad for a people today to kill it's enemies except only in the heat of deadly battle when that great misfortune occurs. It usually occurs for corporate profit these days, so not attending modern wars is usually recommended. But killing political prisoners, is absolutely undeniably unacceptable on all levels. What McVeigh did was an act of war no different than what we do to many countries regularly with our airplanes. He should be kept captive but never killed. Killing him is absolute cowardice. I would say that our society doesn't know chivalry, nor religion, nor justice. Just some bogus hodge podge of fear masquerading as social conscience. Swans do not kill their political prisoners. We are above that. We prove to them they were wrong. But we have to be there. What the spirit seeks, the mind and body will follow. First end his pain over Waco. End everyone's pain over Waco. Be big and do that. No, instead they will just snuff "the entire responsible party" (as if this was a bank hold up in the old west story) and forget the whole thing. How uncomplex of us as a people. How embarrassing.
