Guest guest
Wonderful question! I assume you are referring to the classical books, Mani. If we do not account for the ayanamsa, we will have to look into the heavens and make judgements from direct observation! Guest guest
HI Savants, Can you give me any info re any mention of ayanamsa in the books? Is there any value given, any date for the value etc.? Even more fundamental, is ayanamsa ever referred tonat all? I hope Pursottam will delve into this! regards Mani

Exactly what I mean. There is too much speculation. And emphasis on revelation. We do not know how and for whar purpose the revelation was made: for the individual, or to be taught by him or her. I suspect it was the former and that persons like Parasara only recorded their visions. Had it been for teaching future generations, the ayanamsa would have been defined! God or any angel was not so stupid as to leave a vital factor undefined! So the revelations were for persons who either knew the ayanamsa for their times - OR - lived when ayanamsa was zero. I am still waiting for the scholars to speak! If silence is the answer, or answers like "Go by thevayanamsa you find best..." THEN it is time to investigate! regards Mani +
