Guest guest
Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!! Namaste dear brother Dasji!!! how's it going for you dear brother?? i have been trying the beautiful yellow oil myself...interesting colour...the colour of GURU...so i guess we could say that it is Guru Prasad couldn't we? (Satchidananda Guru i mean...not any particular person!) it seems to be helping me too...i notice a distinct rise in the mood...to generally more cheerful and happy, and eager to be of service to the devotees....just like you have!! well, dear brother i've been having a lot of fun with your wonderful Goravani 2.2.2 jyotish program...the more i play with it, the more amazed i am at your dedication to the programming and the amount of work that it takes to make a good program.. i've been giving some charts and readings away to friends, who i know are not well off, but could use the chart info...especially it works well for the email method, once i figured out how to do it. Thanks for that included option!! there are a couple of points however, dear brother Dasji that i would like to bring up with you.... i notice that there is NO mention of Sade sati in this program, unless it appears in another manner...such as just commenting on the position of Sani when S/he is coming up to the 12th house before the moon...i think that some Sade Sati stuff would be really useful in your new program...both describing the effects over particular moon positions, relevant to the ascendant of course...as if Sani is one's "friend" Her delicate ministrations will be more "friendly", although perhaps still "painful" to the ego at times... it would also be good to include with the Sade Sati info, a number of possible "remedies"...for the affliction....such as meditation, prayer, and so on...with perhaps an emphasis on devotion to the Beloved Deity as being very much helpful, perhaps even more helpful than directly working with the Grahas... there is all too much info out there in the various "astrology" sites, which promotes the use of gems as remedies, and sometimes what i've read seems just plain WRONG...to use a sapphire to strengthen a debilitated Sani for example...that's way too general a prescription and could result in more troubles than the querent had to begin with...as Sani getting stronger, but debilitated might just do a whole bunch MORE harm..especially if She isn't your "friend"... also dear brother, i have been trying out the compatibility section of the program to see how it works, and although it is useful to a good degree, i see too much (in my view) emphasis on the "kutas" and their resulting "karmas" for the different planetary matches...(although i did like your comparison of the planetary positions...i found that quite helpful and interesting. now i am wondering if you might consider to put into the new program a section in the compatibility part which works on the synastry of relationships as described in Hart De Fouw and Robert Svoboda's wonderful "Light on Relationships" ...they work with the four "cornerstones" and develop a compatibility profile on those relationships...first with the person themselves...such as whether the person has reasonable "marriage karmas"...in other words what the outcome of marriage might be for that person... then they analyze the distance of all the four cornerstones from each other for both people...not just moon from moon, but moon from lagna, and sun, and venus...and the same all around...also it may be useful to include the relationships between Jupiter for the woman and Venus for the man with the other four cornerstones...(as well as possibly using the Jaimini Karakas for spouse also...these are all numerical things, which could be easily worked out by the computer program...and are very tedious to work out by hand...also they give a VERY good idea of just where the strengths and weaknesses of a potential relationship lie...Yep, i AM lazy...but then what do you expect with Sani Atmakaraka and Lagnesha.... Like De Fouw and Svoboda, i tend to feel that the kutas while very useful too, and necessary to form a complete picture, are actually overused, and are not a complete analysis in themselves...analysing the cornerstones and Rahu and Ketu add a great deal of accuracy to the relationship analysis...i found them to be invaluable in figuring out just why i was having troubles with this one friend of mine...and why the person was one way while i was another...i could see clearly in the cornerstone relationships where we have our troubles, and thus warned can make allowances for it...(lots of 6-8 and 2-12 relationships between grahas in our case!) another idea came up while attempting to do the rectifying of birth times...the rectification program seems a bit clumsy still..or maybe it's just that I'M clumsy with it (i do like the two options for recalculating though)...but i find that i almost NEED to get another, third chart going from another program, to see what the transits were at the particular periods, which is very awkward in setting it up so that all can be seen...and must be recalculated for each chart every time!(for both programs)...it would be very nice if the program would show both the querent's birth chart and navamsha AND the transit charts...not just the dasas and bhuktis...as the dasas and bhuktis are meaningless without the transits...so if there were THREE charts available, or if two, then perhaps instead of Rasi and Navamsha, have Rasi and Transit charts...with the Rasi adaptable by pushing one of those ubiquitous "buttons" with "N" on it...the Rasi could convert into Navamsha, this would make it MUCH easier to rectify in a meaningful way...so my suggestion is to have a Rasi/navamsha chart and a Transit chart which could be sensitive to the "questions" and the times given for the life events...one could have a button by each question or make it mouse sensitive like so many other areas already are. so i hope you will consider these little ideas of mine...i do believe that they would make the astrologer's job a lot easier...of course it would make YOUR job a little more involved, working out the program to cover that..but dear brother, from looking at what you've already accomplished i have no doubt that you could produce a world-class program in synastry which would blow everyone's mind!! and a rectification program which would be smooth, easy and accurate.. the sade sati calculation and tagging along with interpretations and remedies wouldn't be too much more to add however (i think)...and would be also very helpful...you wouldn't believe how many people come to one, or write to one, wondering what's gone wrong with their lives, and even many jyotishi students do not seem to notice the Sade Satis!!!(some possibly, because you haven't mentioned them in your program!) But when i have informed them of the Sade Sati...people have invariably been relieved to have a "handle" on it...and to know that it is a time-limited affliction. Also they are very happy to know that there are ways to get on Saturn's "good side"...and usually are pleased to learn about the remedies...after all, observing Saturdays, wearing more blue and black on those days, and practicing seva and compassion to old folks on Saturdays is not really THAT difficult to manage...at least some effort can be made . We don't all need huge expensive sapphires, but we DO all need to get into a good relationship with our Beloved Deity, if we are not already in one.... Also it might be good to include a little bit of interpretation for the Dasas and Bhuktis...and even smaller...as people look at the Mahadasa Bhukti sheet, but they don't know what to do with it!..if there was a little interpretation included, at least for the current period, and maybe a little into the future....then it would be more informative to the folks who get the charts. of course all this data without interpretations will probably spur many on to study more about Jyotish as it did with me!!so in that way it's ok the way it is...but for those who do not want to study, the extras would be very helpful...to include, say, as one of the options for the printout...then we could judge whether this person will need it or not..and act accordingly... so my suggestion in this department might be very good to add into the "Transits" section...since the transits are actually only really effective when backed up by the Dasas...and Bhuktis... thus the program could search out the transits which would be "potentiated" by the Dasa/Bhukti combinations and could highlight these to the querent as being particularly IMPORTANT and strong influences in one's life for that period...as it is the Transits while useful are a bit too general...one could pare them down to the "active" and powerful ones...triggered by the Dasas...again i know this is more work, but already you are devoting tons of time to this project..and i believe that these would be incredible value-added components...and would make the program EVEN more of a "ROLLS-ROYCE" of Jyotish programs...not that i'm complaining about the present state of the program...just that i could see some places where it could be even better than before....and i know you do want this kind of feedback!! so those are my little suggestions for improvements...they would be interesting and valuable additions to the program!! i getting pretty excited these days...we go down to see Amma this week...on Thursday we'll leave...camp overnight close to Hope BC and then head on down to Lynnwood..... Much brotherly love to you Dasji!! In the Divine Mother's love and in Her Service, koti koti pranams to thee! as ever, your own self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!! Hi, I already sent private email to Goravani and i am waiting his reply. In those readings is one problem: Sripathi-houses. I don´t know yet are there any options to change housessystem and if not, surely i recommend that in GJ3. Sripathi (Porphyry) houses doesn´t belong to classical Jyotish. Sripathi comes from Greeks, that´s the fact everyone should remember if they want to have their art and readings pure. Sripathi-houses (Porphyry) acts like as other kvadrant-houses, Regiomontanus, Placidus etc - and in Northern hemisphere there´re any use for them. Jyotish needs pure and harmonic geometry. Planets doesn´t aspect not only other planets, but houses also - and all readings, including Yogas, depends on planets placements in houses. My strict opinion is that the sign and the house must be exactly the same. This is only way to have correct readings. Houses 1-4-7-10 are Kendras, houses 1-5-9 Trikonas, houses 3-6-8-12 Dussthanas and houses 3-6-10-11 Upachayas. If in Rashichart planets are in Kendras or Trikonas, but in Sripathi-based readings somewhere else, the results are absolutely wrong. I got reading based on GJ-software and all Yoga - and House-interpretations was done for Sripathi-houses, when the chart looks like Regiomontanus or Placidus, where my Lagna lord lives in 10th, althought it must be in 8th in natural placement. The problem rises because i was born in northern hemisphere, scandinavia - where Charts really looks not the same as in beautiful and sunny town of Natal in Brasil :.) In Sripathi my Jupiter/Ketu lives in 5th, Mercury in 10th, Sun in 11th, Venus/Rahu 11th and Moon/Saturn in 12th - and guess what? I really don´t like that. I practised years Tropical astrology with Placidus cusps and really fed up. Those does not give proper results and i can´t see my life and my lifehistory on that basis. I can´t recommend Sripathi for anyone. I prefer Vedic Equal Houses (Whole Houses), where the sign and the house must be exactly the same. Here my Jupiter/Ketu lives in 4th, Mars in 6th, Mercury in 8th, Sun in 9th and Rahu/Venus/Moon/Saturn in 10th - and this is the base for readings giving the correct Yogas etc. Vedic Equal Signs is the most common housesystem in Jyotish and in a very minimal way i could accept it. It gives almost the same results, but Moon and Saturn lives in 11th - difficult to accept but an compromise. Also, i have to say one thing. Jyotish is very complex and is not good to mix traditions. Parashara´s "Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra", = "Saravali", "Jataka Parijata" and "Phaladipika" gives a lot of information. Also Varahamira´s works "Brihad jataka" and "Brihat Samhita". But there´s also information from the Jaimini´s works, Kalidasa´s "Uttara Kalamrita". Jaimini and Parashara traditions are very different, which should not mix with each other. Even very westernlike Tajika Jyotish has come to modern Jyotishi´s readings. My simple opinion just is that if we want to have clear tradition and have correct readings, we MUST use the pure and very traditional way. I can´t accept that Vedic-astrologers use traditions like cooking whatever they want. Of course, astrology is always changing and having something new over centuries. New styles are developed, such like Systems Approach - but for me who believes the power of tradition, these newcomers are very strange. I just wish that we, who practise traditions as well as we can, try to keep our stuff pure - and for correct readings use that kind of housessystems which serves people (Whole Houses). Namaste Mark!! you don't have to use Sripati house system with Gorgavani Jyotish!!in fact my copy came with the default setting on Equal House system... if your's is in "Sripati", and you don't want that, i would suggest just to on the main page, look up in the right hand corner where it has various options of what to do...just above "features" and below "print" you will find "preferences" click on that and when the new window opens, look up in the right hand top corner, there you will find the section designated "Default Bhava Chakra" and in that section you can just click on the particular kinds of house system you want between three different possibilities..... Good luck!! In the Divine Mother's Love and in Her Service, as ever, your own self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!

Namaste, In fact, i don´t own GJ-sofware yet. Friend of mine printed out reading for me and he just forgot to use Equal Houses. It´s ok, i read every readings analyzing those very carefully. I am sure that Vedic Equal House (=Whole House) reading gives more better results. Das Goravani doesn´t have to reply me no more about this subject. Everything is okay. Probably i´ll buy GJ-software in future. Thank you for help, Yours Mark Kröger Ps. Do you know how is Ammachi, his health and plans? Any news?
