Guest guest
Chris/others Right, GLA is for some. I have always said this. I WISH all of us could have something which is like this thing is for me, because it's kindof a "savior" from pain. Amazing. But no, to notice a bang from it, you'd have to be dopamine depressed, which is different than seratonin, or gaba, or endorphin, or other...depressed. You must identify YOUR CASE. Correct. Cousons approach UNDERLINES UNIQUENESS in all cases. We are all a little different. I was OBVIOUSLY a dopamine whacko on the low side, which is what they find in Scot/Iri, the land of Celtic Nerve Knots. Physicians, find your root problems, for yourselves, individually, and heal that, and shine. Then walk and teach. Paribrajakacarya, travelling teacher. Become a healed lighthouse. You cannot heal some things. Think not of it. Heal the healable. May we have the intelligence to know the difference. By the way, the age of 2 is upon us. Purush in no more. From conquest outwards, we now turn to conquest inwards, from Lingam to Yoni, from 1 to 2, from self to relating, the time is upon the Earth. And it is good. This is not news. The day of liking attention is over for me. Allow me to relate without commenting about me. I wish to dissapear in that way. I speak the truth in weakness, so falter I will, but should I stop, I say nay. Purushottamam, I love you too. Thanks for telling me to shut up and get back to work. (my words, not yours). You're so right. God help me so. I'm happy today, after great sadness.
Guest guest
Hello Chris, Yes! I appreciate your concern, however the recent discussions led me to investigate further and I discovered that Evening Primrose Oil has (supposed) anti-inflammatory properties. It's for this reason (not depression) that I've decided to give it a go...can't hurt to try I'm sure :-)...what I have found is some mild "reflux", but that's a minor discomfort. Best Regards Wendy Christopher Kevill [ckevill] Thursday, May 24, 2001 11:13 PM gjlist [gjlist] GLA - a panacea? Hello All: At the risk of being Mr Wet Blanket here, I just wanted to add some important points to the whole GLA and evening primose discussion. After reading Cousens book, it's quite clear that he's talking about GLA for a specific type of depression/neurotransmitter imbalance. Das has mentioned this regarding dopamine imbalances, but I think it's getting applied to all sorts of things in a general way. As I understand it, Cousens' typologies of depressions are organized around which neurotransmitter is out of whack. In Das' case, it was his need for a high from drugs or booze (the Irish/Scottish gene) that was the big tip off that dopamine was the problem. But this applies to only some forms of depression. Cousens is clear that depressions mixed with anxiety are more likely to be caused by serotonin imbalances. These are best treated with omega 3 oils such as flaxseed and NOT GLA. He also has a regimen of other supplements that one should follow besides the oils. So, just in case, you were all rushing out and buying Evening Primose Oil and wondering why it wasn't working the wonders that it has for Das, that might be one explanation.
