Guest guest
Hey there, I don't have a dog. OK, if one mans poison is another mans food, than suicide may be selfish for some and selfless for others. Yukio Mishima killed himself to make a point. Was his selfish? I'm not sure it was. How about the wife of Shiva in scripture, who committed suicide, as well as Gandhari, who is considered one of the Pancha Jani (5 great woman) of ancient India. Certainly she (who knew Krishna personally) knew the rules. So woman entering the funeral pire of their husbands are exampted, and so are other people. In life, there is never a repeat performance. Seems Gods get bored easily. So, there is never actually one fixed dharma either, it is flexible to the moment and individual. Some things are true always, but in the mix of things as complex as they are, it's impossible to judge. Hindu rules like "Suicide is selfish" and "Suicide makes you a ghost" are rules, helpful guidelines (I have to say "maybe" especially as regards this rule), and nothing more. We are also told many other things we eventually "break" in order to move on like "never associate with non vaisnavas" is a rule I am now getting better at breaking. There is something in the scriptures for every situation it seems. Like I've heard, but haven't read, that it says somewhere in that Vedic pile of literatures, that if you starve yourself to death, then there's no karma for committing suicide that way. For those who can't think, there's teachers. And those who can't do, teach. So students are thoughtless disciples of the actionless. Am I right? I am personally really sick of rules. Probably because I over ate on them for years. Myself I'm more into cats than the dogma at this time. Cats live very much in the moment. You must deal with them with complete detachment and in the moment. But the only thing making me strong is all the years of rules. Damn, how DO you figure out life. Sometimes you have to eat to live, other times you had better fast. Knowing which/when is the art of fitting through doorways, literally and figuratively. How do you like them gray apples? (grayiswhatyougetwhenyouspinayinyanrealfast) oneness is hard to understand try reading that with all the letters on top of each other I only want to be liberated if in the oneness they use ergonomic keyboard and macintosh
