Namaste dear pressed for time sisters and the rest too!! as one of the ones who often is relating to the wider perspective of what Jyotish is...i believe that almost everything that we are discussing on this list IS JYOTISH and nothing but JYOTISH.... i am unsure as to what you mean when you say: "good works simply "go under" in this jumble." first of all what "jumble"?...there is no jumble as far as i can see...sometimes there are quiet times on the list and other times there are very busy times...is that what you mean...the busy times seem to be a jumble to you, because you don't have time to actually go thru it all, and follow the lines of argument...and thus it is confusing and a "jumble"?? this child is only guessing...but that's what it seems you might mean.. Jyotish is not only those charts, and Grahas, and so on...it is the RESULTS of all those combinations...and these results are expressed thru the varied voices on the list....and sometimes the actual technical Jyotish discussions are seemingly a lot more of a "jumble" than the philosophically leaning ones....as the arguments fly back and forth... as for me, i PREFER the mix...the lists that are 100% technical "Jyotish" i don't find nearly as interesting or stimulating as Dasji's list...what i LOVE about this list IS the philosophizing which is the Ground of Jyotish, the fertiliser of understandings which will allow the students to see it in a greater light...Jyotish is not just a science of numbers and lines with ancient texts which tell you what they mean...if you want that...you can just GO to the ancient texts themselves... What we are expressing here in Dasji's list is actually to me the LIFE and BREATH of Jyotish...the healthy exchange of information of philosophy, and of numbers and lines...it's really all ONE...if you don't like the Philosophy part, just delete those authors you know to mainly be talking about what you don't want to read!!!that's what i do on the other jyotish list that comes to my email box.... If you don't want to get all those letters, simply go to your account at and change your preferences to "no mail"...and you can look at whatever mail you like ON THE SITE...with NO MAIL to your box...this works very well for me...i just go to .groups, and read the ones that look interesting...and for me the ones that look interesting usually have Das Goravani, or Mani's name (as well as a host of others!!) attached...they are the ones i read FIRST because dear sister, my brother Dasji and Maniji have the most incredible Sakti...the most incredible JUICE...they are HIGH and i want to have some of their nectar too...so like Rahu, i sneak into their letters, and steal the nectar....and BOY DO I GET HIGH!!!! Whereas when i read some of the strictly "jyotish" technical letters, i find myself dropping off...too technical, too complicated... doesn't appply to MY life...some of them are very juicy too, i don't want anyone to feel insulted...but to me THE MOST JUICY, AND MOST INSPIRING OF ALL THE LETTERS ON THIS GORAVANI JYOTISHI LIST are INSPIRED THRU SPIRIT, and ARE in fact, THE VOICE of spirit SPEAKING Thru Jyotish....jyotish is a means to an end..and that end is liberation...any other end is really a prostitution of the Mother Jyotir Sri Vidya...to this end, we Jyotishis NEED to exchange and have SATSANG with each other...this SATSANG is NOT limited to numbers and Parasharas ancient texts...it is actually about Spirit...and if you don't have time for spirit, i am very much afraid, that you are missing the essence of the Jyotish.... Thus when i see Dasji writing these wonderful long rambles i rejoice!! i start to giggle!!...i am so HAPPY for my dear friend Dasji, that he's found his voice again...to me this is a wonderful blessing to us...and i invariably see strewn carefully throughout his beautiful weaving some precious jewels of Jyotish wisdom that he's picked up...and placed there to add a little more lustre to his creation.... i feel the same way with Mani's wonderful letters...for me they ARE Jyotish...as for me life, philosophy and Jyotish are NOT SEPARATE... of course, MY children are now grown enough, and i have enough time when not at work, and enough dedication in that department that i welcome the LONGEST letters from my Goravani Jyotish sisters and brothers...but for that you must have time, it is true...so we must then choose what we will give time to...that is a sadhana also..we must fast on the useless or possibly dangerous, occupations and practice only that which will fulfill our longterm goal...whatever that might be...but to exclud the phlisophy from Jyotish discussions would be like throwing out the baby with the bath water!!! In the Divine Mother's Love and in the Service Of Mother Jyotir Vidya this child bows most humbly to those time-pressured Daughters of the Divine Mother, from Germany, Ilona, and Liliana, and he asks Her Manifold Blessings upon them and upon All!! as ever your own Self visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!
