Saying goodbye, one pain at a time

Rhoda Reporter,

Thank you for the kind words. I shall try to be bright.

My counselors tell me it's ok to feel the pain and go through it. I have only

them here it seems, two friends, both counselors, who can never really be

your friends by law and practice, which I honor. I have you, this list, which

is you. Thank you for listening, friend. I'm trying to start other new local

frienships which are real and not addictive, not codependent.

I'm saying goodbye to alot of pains, one at a time. I had to give my dad a

few days. That brought up a few days worth of my raves. The underlying actual

motivations for all my raves have been father, family, irish, hare krishna,

addiction, sorrow, and so on. There's a few dead friends I have to spend some

time with, listen to, understand, cry with. Alot of old ground denied to

revisit and honor, in order to move on.

As I go along, one pain at a time, I'm saying goodbye. I won't stay in pain,

it's part of the clearing process.

But yes, onto happier tones and hues.

I have my red ball clown nose on. There's a small tear, and a big smile.

Thank you for being there for me.

After a bunch of goodbyes,

theres a journey,

full of thought and memories,

then soon there is a new time,

full of hellos,

new acquaintances and opportunities.

That's how journeys go.

goodbye

are we there yet?

I think it's neat that you're using this human emoticon. When I first saw

it, it made me think of the Burning Man festival that is held in the Nevada

desert every year. Like your goodbyes, it started when I guy in SF wanted

to rid himself of all the bad things in his life, so he build a 10 ft

wooden "man" surrounded it with all sorts of material stuff he no longer

wanted, and set it on fire in Golden Gate Park. It became popular over the

years and became a magnet for all sorts of "weird" (read: interesting)

people to come together and celebrate life. I think the Burning Man is now

a 50 ft structure and when burning at night creates a marvellous bonfire.

I saw a documentary on it, and thought it was pretty cool.
