Guest guest
Hello All, I’m curious if any of you know of any books or suggestions I could use in my Homeopathic and AyurVedic medicine practice regarding birth control methods based on tracking the astrology? I am a new member to the list and am just starting to wet my toes with Vedic Astrology. I’m looking for something that women without having lot’s of knowledge about astrology could do to track a sort of “rhythm method” of the stars for birth control…. Is there such a thing? Thank you. Sincerely, Theresa
Guest guest
There was an astrological birth control method that Astro Computing Services, Inc. offered computations for, during the seventies, which was called the "Jonas" method after its discovery by a doctor Jonas, if I have that correctly recalled. Basically, the Dr. Jonas premise is: when the angle between Sun and Moon are identical to the mathematical angle between them as seen in the wife's rasi chart, she will become fertile for a day or two. Another fertile period arrives when these 2 planets make the same angle on the other side of the Sun. Thus there are 2 times of the month for maximum fertility according to Dr. Jonas. Midway between these angles will be maximum infertile The mucous thins during maximum fertile time, so this is a known indicator of fertility. A week after conception occurs, a visible line reaches vertically from navel to pelvis. This is part of the network of veins which will continue to develop during the pregnancy. Strong muscles which will cradle the growing baby become hardened and toned almost immediately. The newly pregnant mother does not need to take any test other than see that dark line (it is a dark vein showing under the skin) and press on her lower abdomen to notice if the "cradling" pelvic muscle (just above the bikini line) has become tightened. This self-test was told to me by a Mormon lady named June Sullivan, who had borne 6 daughters. I used this information to determine that I was pregnant with my 3rd child shortly after he was conceived. I knew the answer was "yes" long before I was eligible for any doctor's test for pregnancy; doctors commonly use a urine test (after about 5 weeks) to show the presence of telltale hormones in the urine. It is still amazing to me that one's body shows this much adjustment to pregnancy, only seven DAYS into a 9-month term. Best to all, Carol Hook

Namaste dear sister!! wasn't there a very good method suggested by Margaret Nofziger back in the seventies??...she was one of the mid-wifes at "The Farm" in Tennessee. worked with Ina May Gaskin...who wrote the "Spiritual Midwifery" book, which became so popular...(we used it for our homebirthed babies back in the early 80's and i would swear by it as a great book). Ina May recommended this other book on natural birth control, which used if i am not incorrect, the "mucous" method of testing...and keeping track on a calendar...you don't need astrology or Jyotish for this...you just need to know just how long the menstrual cycle is...and thus a calendar and a book and pencil are the most usefull...Margaret Nofziger had written an entire book about this technique, but i don't recall the name...perhaps they might have some kind of access to it at the Farm website.... www.thefarm.org i hope this has been of some help to you, dear sister. In the Divine Mother's Love and in Her Service, as ever, your own Self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!
