Namaste dear list members,

Does anybody know of another jyotish list, where members concentrate on

exchanging and discussing charts, and less on non-astrology-matters? I'd be

most grateful for a recomendation which would spare me searching the web for

such a list.

Please don't misunderstand me, I have no intentions of criticizing anybody

for discussing what ever he/she pleases, and I DO find e-mails on

non-astrological matters very interesting! It's just that I work full time

+ spend an hour and a half in the subway every day, and have very little

spare time, so unfortunately I have to economise with it. I'm afraid I have

to choose, it's EITHER astrology OR anything else. At the moment, my

priority is astrology. So thanks in advance for any useful information!

Love,

Liliana

Dear friends, dear Das,

how would you think about two lines, meaning two lists, one list is called

Research - here we will only work on vedic astrology and the other line we

call Philosophy - open for all discussions, either philosophic, remedies and

so on.

For me it is the same as for Liliana: our day only has 24 hours and is

filled with job, household, in my case there also are 5 children, scool, my

patients, the work on a book and so on.

I like vedic astrology and want to research and to improve my vedic

knowledge. I also like this list, but for reasons of time i can not follow

all these discussions and think they should be seperated. So my suggestion

would be: 2 e-mail lines.

best wishes, Ilona

....how would you think about two lines, ...all these discussions...be

seperated...understand your point, but would like to say this: Das was strict

in the past and did try to stop non-astrological discussions. now he is

breaking the rule himself violently. The reason is this: astrology is sterile

without philosophy. It is like in medicine....

I agreed with Mani's post. Also, plainly, volume is no reason to change a

source so easily manipulated.

I am of the opinion that titles alone can be so helpful.

Listen list:

I am on a list for programmers. It's large-hundreds of emails per day.

Programmers being detail capable, we set up a standard for titling our posts

to help each other sort through and do intelligent mass deletes, of whole

threads, whole sections of the days posts, etc.

Up til now on this list, I used titles as just another canvas. I am an

artist. But that can change.

Example: putting little abreviabtions as the first part of the title to

indicate content, like:

CQ: Help this person (CQ meaning "Chart Question")

RR: The garble of gook (RR meaning "Rambling Rave")

Those are examples. Someone could make a list which could be added to

suggested list etiquette. It helps. Thats a helpful thing as a list grows.

---------------

Did someone say Re Search !

I have been heavily devoted to Jyotish research. Frankly, I'm rather

dissapointed with the energy I've experienced coming back from the

environment in response. Whereas I used to have drive for it, and wrote

things for it, so little happened from all that energy, that I kindof died in

that way.

Available to the world I was someone really interested in Jyotish research,

who had brains, even a little money, owned one of the leading software

programs core source code and copyrights, knew how to hook that up to the

Internet and could do so so that persons could log into the software or a

shared server base for chart and other data sharing worldwide, for

distributed duty research projects. I understand trusts and corporations

pretty fully, the business cycle and process in modern times, including how

VC's work, how benevolent funding entities usually think, and so much more.

My fire was set to ignite, and I sat there, and nothing happened. I am so

dissapointed that nobody else of significant calibre in terms of really

bringing something to the table has happened in my 360 degree view around me

anyway. I tried for years by writing things. There was alot of appreciation,

but no phone calls or emails containing the awaited golden news that someone

who really could do something themselves, who brought something complimentary

to my offerings to the table, who had energy and passion for it like I did,

had become aware of me and was approaching to start something, and it could

work in my mind for me, this never happened. Some years have passed in this

way, like 5 say. It's been a hard stark wake up to reality, these last 5. I

was in incorrect assumption obviously. The reality check has been hard.

So when Jyotish Reseach is mentioned, these are my thoughts speaking just for

myself.

I do not say nothing at all has happened. Great things have happened. I'm

grateful. But if for one moment we can sit at my idea of a table of persons

of maturity discussing the possibilities and immediate necessities of

"Jyotish Research" as a group, firstly, my enthusiasm would hit the ceiling,

then after I calmed down, there would be a massive list of ideas spewing

forth from me uncontrollably, but it all stops because I hit brick walls as

if nobody else is Aries rising in the whole world.

-----------------------------

Now for some of those ramblings. Virgos stop reading here. (as if they made

it this far)

-----------------------------

Lets research my last sentence shall we.

That's such an Aries statement. I did it on purpose. See, I always teach.

"but it all stops because I hit brick walls as if nobody else is Aries rising

in the whole world"

in the following, the words of the sentence with my self deprication attached.

-----

but, a strong word, rather absolute, Aries exageration and simplification,

two of their traits

it all, what all, assumption, referring to the thing harmed by others, their

thing, what they're into, is "it", the focus is intense, but childish,

childish is always an Aries thing

stops, this is what they fear, don't stop the motion, what is "stops", who

has stopped what? They can't answer that. They are trying to make you feel.

They don't care about the words. That is why Virgo is their sixth. Aries

people speak in feelings, not words. Note that and watch. Correct me if I'm

wrong, but myself and many others with prominent Aries, I've noticed, that

they try to not be held responsible for their exact words, but their

chivalry, dignity, how you treat them, if you question their ethics, you will

find a heart of gold (cancer 4) with righteous intent (sag 9) but alot of

frustration (cap aq 10 11). They speak because you do. It's your language, in

their minds. They're only trying to live up to it, but really don't get it,

and hate all the finery and faking, would prefer being real

because I hit brick walls, it's somebody elses fault. So childish.

as if nobody else, always exageration to get your attention cheaply

Aries rising, it's not me, it's my rising signs fault

in the whole world, has he seen the whole worlds many individuals? always

exagerating, seeking the pitty of others, the little damaged pouting Ram,

feeling caged by smart people.

-------

All of these falsities being true, in all seriousness, I suggest you NOT take

me seriously in any way as I never always lie. I'm kidding, well actually,

cut cords cant, so now I only f. Is this Jyotish? I'd like to think so. The

science of light. Yeah. I think so. I do. But reading this, hmmm, can be

nausiating, which means your stomach is with you in the lightness of feeling,

which you so obviously possess.

Anonomous, a great Greek author, was profuse and wise in his writings. He was

The Jyotish list on world.std.com?

a taste like rye, in my hearts eye,

Dear Ilona and Liliana,

I understand your point, but would like to say this:

Das was strict in the past and did try to stop non-astrological discussions. now

he is breaking the rule himself violently. The reason is this: astrology is

sterile without philosophy. It is like in medicine. Once herbs were used, which

contained many ingredients. The main effect came from one ingredient, but the

others helped to ward off the side effects, or enhanced the effect of the main

substance. Allopathic medicine separates the main substance and these medicines

often have terrible side effects. vitamin C as ascorbic acid is hardly effective

against bleeding gums, but with the bio-flavonoids that accompny it in nature,

is highly effective. Philosophy is the bio-flavonoid of jyothish.

If you find these topics superfluous, why don´t you just use the "erase" button?

There are better things to follow: not quoting all letters in full length, not

saying only "thank you" etc. on the list, but doing so directly.

regards

Mani

Dear mani,

thanks for your reply. I also know, that thare are some useful things also

as something I directly erase. But what me burdens is the fact that many

good works simply "go under" in this jumble. So I would prefer a clear line.

Best wishes, Ilona

The idea of distinguishing Astrology and Philosophy

into two different lists seems to be very good...as

each one of it is a deep ocean in itself, though

Astrology might be a bit incomplete without

philosophy…I am sure many others would appreciate

it...

Thanks

Raju

I find this a good idea and hope that astrologers too are detail capable. So

dear list members, let us put little abreviations as the first part of the

title, for instance CD for a Chart Discussion, JT for Jyotish - Techniques,

and NAM for Non-Astrology Matter.

Dear Das, tell me what exactly I can do in order to contribute to your

research, and I'll do whatever I can.

Love,

Liliana
