DearVisti,

Namaste.

Sure. I'll try my best , but please add to what I've missed or

misunderstood.

If the indicated house contains a malefic then it will have an "ulcer

"(sore, wound)

If the house contains a benefic or malefic and has the aspect of benefic

then the part will just have a "scar" (mole, mark )

What I'm having trouble understanding is where to determine the mark will

be.

In sloka 12-14 of the 14th chapter of the BPHS, would we be looking at the

rasi, but taking into account which decanate the planets are in to indicate

the body part?

For example: if we look at the first house in the rasi, does the 1st

drekkana represent the head, the second drekkana of the 1st house represent

the neck and the 3rd drekkana of the 1st house represent the pelvis? and so

on?

So, if someone was to have the Sun in the house in the first drekkana

aspected only by malefics, would this represent a wound to the head?

And since if the degree of the Sun had already been traversed then it would

be left side of the body? Probably occuring during the subperiod of the Sun?

Am i understanding this correctly?

Thank you in advance for your help

Highest regard,

Karen

Hello Karen,

Yes! In this context (scars, moles, etc...not disease!) the 1/3 division of

(any) house can be divided into 1.Area above neck (1st drekkana), 2.Trunk

(2nd drekkana) and 3.Area below waist (3rd drekkana).

As an example I have Ketu in Lagna (aspected by FM Jupiter). I have both a

mole on neck and (small, but visible) scars on face. Note Ketu in retrograde

motion is counted from end of sign, so first drekkana is indicated. I think

we can further ascertain the possible cause of scar. In my chart Ketu is in

nakshatra of Moon...significator of Mother and lord of 7th house (spouse).

The first scar, between eyebrows, was the result of a wood chip hitting me

while my mother was chopping kindling for the fire. The other two were

directly related to spouse.

The Rasi is rich in information if we look deeply enough.

Hi Wendy,

Thank you for your feedback about the body marks and drekkana. It would

make for interesting research if one had the time.

Kind regards,

Karen

Hi, this is very interesting I thought, this scar topic. What about the

invisible ones? Like the ones that are from your past, I'm guessing

past life conditioning? Like they're really scars, but they feel like

wounds, like open wounds, so you just keep trying to heal them or

whatever, but they're already healed, being scars and all. Well, so I

was wondering, would this be seen in the trimsamsa, these kinds of

scars? Angie

Hello Angie,

Yes I agree, this is an interesting area for study, however your thoughts

regarding invisible (deep emotional scars) as seen from Trimsamsa (perhaps)

may be better answered by someone who has more understanding of this

particular Varga than I have. Perhaps Robert's more versed in that

particular area and can offer his opinion.

However, as a further example of scars, etc, I offer the chart I presented

for confirmation of rectification. One of the things that strengthened my

theory of Cancer rising rather than Aries is that this native has scars on

his leg as a result of an accident (whilst travelling on his motor bike).

Note Saturn in Lagna (aspected by Jupiter) is in 3rd drekkana, signifying

area below waist. Saturn is in Mercury nakshatra, moolatrikona sign Virgo

(3rd house...short journeys).

Of course scars and injuries to other parts of the body can also be seen

from influences on Sun and Lagnesh. But like you say, this is an interesting

area of study.

Best Regards

Wendy

Hi Wendy, thanks for sharing your thoughts :) One thing I just

remembered from a post a while back was that sometimes certain negative

behaviors, or phobias, can be traced to the circumstances revolving

around your death in a previous life. So I guess that's what I was

trying to understand, how those circumstances get carried over and then

turned into complexes, it seems kinda like then in a way you're mourning

your own death all of your life, I guess until you learn to let go of

your past, easier said than done though :) Angie
