Just to comment on Karen's answer here.

His height is fairly tall, around 6' with fair skin and he is very smart.

She IS quite short, maybe 5'3 or so, a slighty heavier than average,

although she "carries it well" as the euphemism goes. Her teeth are perfect.

Yes, I agree -- arudha lagna with Moon in it seems favourable. It

underscores how important AL may be.

Chart 3 belongs to a female professor who is quite tall for a Thai (5'7)

with a medium build. She has an average complexion and is quite plain.

One might have thought that lagnesh Jupiter in a venus-ruled sign and Moon

(in Libra) and Venus in mutual aspect might have conferred beauty. In

addition, she has some skin discolouration on her face, which is seemingly

incongruous with Venus in the 2nd, but not when you remember that it rules

3rd and 8th houses and is malefic for Pisces ascendants. 2L Mars is also

combust and aspected by Saturn. Interesting that you noted arudha lord Moon

having the Venus aspect; one could have just was well noted that arudha

lagna Cancer containing Mercury and Ketu. Is the glass half empty or half

full? :-)

 

Using Venus as karaka, 10th is Capricorn which contains Rahu, not a

beauty-conferring planet. Capricorn ruler Saturn is in the 6th in Virgo, so

that further weakens the beauty story I should think.

I'll forego commenting on this, since I don't know much about Jaimini's

rules. Thanks for participating. I hope that you and others on this list

will post your own tests. I feel that blind tests are great learning tools

and force us to come to grips with the bizarre, unorthodox reality that

defies our often complacent astrological assumptions.

Dear Chris,

 

Thanks again for the challenge and your comments. See, that 's the thing

with using completely blind charts for beauty. It's having to guess what

*you* find attractive and that's subjective. You and I being Westerners, I

was using the classic Western supermodel standard i.e. tall, thin with

gorgeous face.

I appreciate the exercise as I never guessed appearances before.

I'll try to come up with a challenge of my own since I also think it's a fun

way to learn and hone one's skills.
