Dear Robert and Alex:

This is all great stuff and widens our field beyond lagna and its planetary

influences. Thanks to both of you for bringing it to our attention. Aside

from the scriptural sources, I wonder if we might explain the favourable

nature of Venus in Capricorn in terms of karakamsha: if we take Venus as

karaka for beauty and make it lagna, then when in Capricorn its mooltrikona

sign will be Libra in the 10th house. A Venus Aquarius makes its MT sign

the 9th house. Both these houses and 10th especially are concerned with

public acclaim and since we're talking about Venus matters, then it stands

to reason that the acclaim will be for beauty.

Alex I'm wondering where you got all that data for the models. Is it from

astrodatabank? That's a really great resource whatever it is.

Namaste Chris,

That is the crux of it I guess, for Saturn signs, Venus forms the

most powerful influence due to its yogakaraka status. A thing to look

at with interest in charts is how Venus and Saturn behave in their

mutual dasa/antardahas. ie Ven-Sat, Sat-Ven.

It is mentioned in a few jyotish texts that they have some sort of

symbiotic relationship.

As regards the models and actors I have just picked up their data

from various sources on the internet. They are without times, and

sometimes without cities. But they are still fascinating to look at

for the sign placements, and how the planets are distributed from

each other, etc.

Warm regards,

Hi Alex:

I'm impressed by your diligence at finding all those charts by hand, as it

were, off the internet. A labour intensive activity for sure. I mentioned

Astrodatabank because it's sort of the standard database for this sort of

thing. Like GJ, it can select for all sorts of criteria and give you all

the charts that have that factor. Unfortunately, it is only a western

program at this time and they are in the process of coming out with a

jyotish/sidereal version. That will be a great addition to our collective

research abilities.
