I have no fixed views on this topic and merely entered into the debate with Wendy to clarify what I fould to be some pretty loose rules that, if applied without discrimination, would be misleading. I've yet to fully clarify things although I have benefited from the debate and thanks to contributions from everyone, feel like I'm closer to understanding things. To my mind, blind tests are the only way to see if "pure" principles are correct or merely orthodox. Otherwise, it is too easy to see whatever it is you want to see.
