Guest guest
Hi Too bad only Pursottam had the inclination to post an answer to my quiz, although a couple of apparently shy people sent private emails to me about it. I guess there's a fear of looking foolish in front of one's peers that has to be overcome first. Anyway, chart 1 belongs to our favourite neurotic nebbish Woody Allen and chart 2 belongs to sultry hollywood star Michelle Pfeiffer. I hope I'm not offending anyone if I favour Pfeiffer in the looks department. I think Pursottam made some key points here. Pfeiffer/chart 2 has Taurus rising with Venus exalted in Pisces, although it should be added in the first (weak) degree of Pisces. Neither the Asc nor Venus receive any aspects. The Moon in the 4th is also exactly square the Asc. Not a jyotish measurement really, but possibly signficant. In navamsha, Venus rises in Cancer lagna (which is opposed by Neptune with a 4* orb). D-9 lagnesh Moon is in Libra and thus there is an exchange of signs between Venus and lagnesh Moon -- both karakas of beauty and feminity. Moon is conjunct both Saturn and Jupiter. Chart 1/Woody has Leo rising with Sun in Scorpio conj Merc and Jupiter. Also, Moon is in 7th aspecting the 1st (remember Marilyn?). Saturn is also in the 7th and it's closer to the cusp so perhaps that nudges the Moon's beauty-lending powers. Venus is in the last degree of virgo using lahiri, or the first degree of Libra using Krishnamurti. In navamsha, Gemini rises and Mercury is with Moon Rahu and Jupiter. Not bad, but it doesn't have the same impact as having Venus rising and exchanging signs with the Moon, I'd say. Venus is still in last degree of Virgo/first degree of Libra and unaspected. I didn't want to pick a really tricky one, and I do think this one was a clearer choice than they often are. My feeling is that using celebrity charts is a risky venture for this attractiveness exercise since most of them are good looking in some way and almost all of them are in the public eye and hence "looked at" by a lot of people. I had originally wanted to put the charts of people I knew and see how you would do. The problem there is you don't know them, so you have to take my word for it, etc. Nevertheless, I feel to do this right, we have to look at a number of non-celebrities, both plain and attractive, and hope we'll take each other's word for it. So here are the charts of a few of people I know. Chart 1 May 10 1963 6.19 am EDT 45n25 75w42 Asc 7Ta31 Chart 2 Sep 8 1964 10.31 pm BST 51n30 00w10 Asc 19Ta53 Chart 3 June 23 1953 00.00 am SSUT (Tz 7.00) 13n45 100e31 Asc 2Pi45 Which of these non-celebrities is attractive? I promise this is my last test offering on this subject. I invite someone else to pose a test using their own charts. Thanks again to Pursottam for taking up the challenge. Chris >Hey Chris, > >> >> I thought it might be fun to make it into a little test to see how people >> go about deciding Here are a few charts. Guest guest
Om Krishnaaya Namah Hello Chris, > > Chart 1 May 10 1963 6.19 am EDT 45n25 75w42 Asc 7Ta31 > > Chart 2 Sep 8 1964 10.31 pm BST 51n30 00w10 Asc 19Ta53 > > Chart 3 June 23 1953 00.00 am SSUT (Tz 7.00) 13n45 100e31 Asc 2Pi45 > > Which of these non-celebrities is attractive? > I think it's either chart one, or chart two. But I think the indications in chart one are much stronger, so that's my final choice. 1. Mercury, the second and fifth Lord sits extremely close to the Lagna degree, retrograde. 2. There is an aspect from the Moon, which though debilitated, is just past being full, and so may cause benefits in aspecting his exaltation sign. 3. The Moon itself receives a very tight beneficial aspect from Jupiter, who also happens to rule the eighth, another house responsible for sexual attractiveness. 4. The Lagna Lord Venus is exalted within one degree of maximum exaltation in the eleventh, and conjoins the eighth Lord Jupiter who is in his own house. 5. The Arudha Lagna is occupied by Saturn and Ketu. While I'm not sure about what Ketu does here to appearance, based on Robert's postings, Saturn in Capricorn may be very beneficial. So I'd say chart one is attractive. Thanks for the puzzle, Pursottam
Guest guest
Dear Chris and all, Here's my attempt at the latest puzzle. This is my first attempt at analyzing appearance, so any comments are welcome. My answer is chart 3. My analyis is below for anyone who cares to read. (maybe find out if I'm correct first before reading Chart 1: In rasi the native has Taurus (short, well-set, full face, small eyes, thick neck) rising with merc(short, literary skills) aspected by moon (short, round face, fair skin). The lagna lord Venus ( natural karaka of beauty)is exalted in Pisces with Jupiter and aspected by Saturn in Capricorn. Second from Lagna is gemini, lord in first, aspected by jup ans exalted venus by rasi dristiThese seem like good beauty indicators to me. In navamsa, Pisces is rising with merc again, (she's smart!) aspected by Saturn(taller) and Jupiter(tall). The lagna lord, Jup is conjoined moon and sun. The arudha lagna, others perception of her,is Virgo has saturn and ketu aspected by merc, nothing dramatic. My guess at appearance: mod height, fair skin, average looks and smart Chart 2: In rasi, Taurus is rising with Jupiter and lagna lord,Venus is in 3rd with debilitated Mars. Jupiter in lagna can make one prone to being overweight. Second from lagna ( ruling face and mouth) has Rahu, which can make for bad teeth. In Navamsa, Gemini is rising aspected by Saturn(taller). Lagna lord, mercury (short)in second house with mars(short) and aspected by debilitated Jupiter (tall, plump). Hmm.. moderately short, chubby and bad teeth. Arudha lagna is virgo with moon aspected by Jupiter. These are better beauty indicators, but I don't see it in the Rasi. Chart 3. In rasi, Pisces rising (short stature, thick build, soft eyes) aspected by Saturn (tall and thin). Lagna lord Jupiter in 3rd. Second house(ruling face) has venus aspected by moon which could make a pretty face. In navamsa, Cancer rising (mod stature, round face, fair complexion) with merc(short, smart)and ketu (tall) aspected by Jupiter. >From arudha lagna, we have cancer with merc and ketu. Arudha lord, moon is aspected my venus this could add to perceived beauty My guess: moderate height and build with fair skin and pretty face. So, still hard to decide between 1 and 3. However , if you look at the chart using Jaimini's rules, (see Upadesa Sutras) The stronger between lagna and sun denotes the body and the stronger between the moon and 2nd from lagna denote the face. Then: Chart 1.lagna is stronger than sun so analysis stands but moon is stronger than 2nd as it is aspected by both of scorpio's lords. by rasi dristi, moon is aspected by 5 malefics, so may mar the appearance. chart2. analysis stands as both lagna and second are stronger than sun and moon. chart 3. Sun is stronger than lagna. Sun in Gemini ( tall, long arms, dark complexion, dark hair, bright eyes)with MArs (ruddy, short) aspected by Saturn ( again tall ) Second from lagna stronger than Moon so still has pretty face. So, now we have tall, thin and pretty face and maybe dark complexion. This one is most attractive to me, I don't know if this is what Chris has in mind. Thanks Chris for challenge, Best Wishes, Karen

Oops.. made a mistake. It's stronger between 2nd from lagna and second from Moon to denote face. So in chart 1. Second from Moon is Sag with jupiter with the exalted Venus. Giving a very pretty face. It might be chart one after all.... Best Wishes, Karen
