Hello Ann,

 

As far as I'm concerned the influence of the nodes is restricted to the

house they occupy and the planet(s) they conjoin...their influence is

carried per their dispositor (of course), as is the case with all planets.

If you're referring however to their inclusion in such 2/12 yogas as vesi,

vosi, etc...well these are not referring to any backward or forward aspect

(glance)...what they're referring to is the close proximity of other planets

(including the nodes) to the luminaries. Scripture does not exclude the

nodes from these yogas (as far as I know, someone may correct me if I'm

wrong) however, In the case of sunapha and anapha yoga (particularly) a

nodal presence would be unfavourable, but preferable perhaps to having the

luminaries isolated in the chart.

Dear Ann,

 

I take no aspects for Rahu and Ketu. Not even the 5th and 9th aspects. But

what I take into consideration is their placement in the chart and the

condition of their dispositors. This works well for me.

Rahu aspects the 12th, 5th, 9th house from his position. As his

motion is continually retrograde, the aspects are in reverse.

Therefore the 2nd house from him is aspected, not the 12th. This is a

very powerful aspect of Rahu.

 

That is why it is very bad to have Rahu in the 12th from the Moon.

This reference from Jataka Parijata is taken from the section on the

Moon yogas.

 

Ch. 7 sloka 107 If the Moon be in conjunction with Rahu or Ketu, or

if Rahu occupies the 12th bhava from the Moon, or if the planet

producing the yoga be depressed or obscured by the Sun's rays, the

effect of the yoga will be mixed to the person born therein."

It is not quite the same as conjunction. For a conjunction effect

through aspect, two planets must mutually aspect each other. In this

case Rahu is only aspecting the planet in the 2nd house from him, and

not vice versa. So the influence is only one way.
