Guest guest
Namaste everybody, If you haven't noticed, anybody with Aquarius rising, Sun/Moon in Aq., or Aquarius in the 5th bhava of the chart, have ben undergoing some rough times lately. This came to my notice, as all these Aquarian people (clients and friends) have been writing me for about a week now, complaining about deep depression, anxiety, and just feeling hopeless about life. Of course, the first idea that would come to mind, is that Saturn from his current position in Taurus, will be making a strong aspect to that sign and everything in it, up until March of 2003. Still, that realization didn't satisfy, because Saturn has been in Ta since June of 2000, and has already completed one out of two retrogressions in that sign. So what's up now that so special? Dig a little deeper, and you will discover it: As of march 26, Saturn has entered 3:20 Taurus, which is equivalent to the Navamsa of Aquarius. Still not satisfied? Well then, since April 8, Rahu slipped down into 16:39 Gemini (Mean nodes calculations), which is also equivalent to Aquarius Navamsa. Now, instead of seeing these transits in the Navamsa chart (which you can also do, as suggested by Jataka Bharanam), observe the rasi sign, which is equal to the Navamsa sign being transited. If you occasionally consider outer planets, you see that Uranus has just entered the sidereal Aquarius as well a short time ago. Now you have a recipe for some disturbing, and potentially vitriolic effects on whoever, or whatever happens to find emphasis in the natal Aquarius. Note what planets are in that Navamsa (or any Navamsa you are looking at) in the natal Navamsa chart, as well as those which are in the equivalent sign in the rasi chart. All will be impacted by a confluence of malefics moving in such Navamsa signs. Anyway, coming back to Rahu and Saturn: Saturn stays in Aq. Nav. from 3/6 to 4/25/01; Rahu stays in Aq. Nav. from 4/8/01 to 6/10/01. So the overlap period where they party in Aquarius is basically from 4/8 to 4/25. Good luck - the results will be all the more noticeable, depending on how many planets are located in that sign in the natal rasi as well as Navamsa charts. At such times, its best to recommend chanting of the pure transcendental sound vibrations, especially the Maha-mantra, or great mantra for deliverance from all miseries in the Kali-yuga, which is as follows: Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare Recite the mantra as many times per day as possible. Especially do it at the time of going to bed, when you get up, as well as in any situation wherein there is danger or mental anxiety. You can also chant to Lord Maha-Vishnu for relief from Samsara, or the repetitions of birth and death: Om Hrim Krim Krishnaya, Brajendraya namah. 64TH NAVAMSA According to Chandra Kala Nadi, the 64th Navamsa from the ascendant or the Moon, is very sensitive, and thus malefics transiting in those Navamsas, are going to bring dramatic effects. The 64th Navamsa from the asc., is equal to the 4th house of the Navamsa chart. Observe its position in the rasi chart, and observe transits to it. The 64th Navamsa from the Moon, is the 4th house from the Moon in the Navamsa chart. Observe transits to it in the same way. Research has shown that benefics transiting the 64th Navamsa can bring some usually beneficial effects. Try it, and see what you find. Or, take some positive and negative events from the past, and see what Navamsa had been transited by those planets at the time. Normally, however, the lord of the 64th Navamsa is going to be dangerous, especially in consideration of longevity and life-threatening instances. This is true too of the lord of the 22nd Drekkana, which is the 8th sign from the ascendant in the Drekkana chart. MENTALLY CALCULATE NAVAMSAS This is an easy exercise to go through, which frees you from computer transit calculations too. (1) Find the element associated with the sign in question (i.e. the sign in which a planet is placed, and for whom you want to find its Navamsa position); (2) locate the *cardinal* sign of that element (ie. Capricorn for earth, Libra for air, etc.); and (3) note which Navamsa, counting from the cardinal sign of that element, the planet or asc. is located in. For example, take a planet in 17 degrees Scorpio. Mentally noting the 3:20 degree divisions of signs, you know that 17 equals the 6th Navamsa. So counting 6 Navamsas from Cancer (the cardinal water sign), you come to Sagittarius, which is that planet's Navamsa position. Take another example: A planet is at 5 Degrees of Virgo, an earth sign. Note the cardinal sign for earth, which is Capricorn. 5 d. is equal to the 2nd Navamsa. So counting from Capricorn two signs, you get Aquarius, which is its Navamsa position. When you go for a walk today, mentally calculate planets in Navamsas in the same way. After a while it becomes easy. There are many secrets to uses of Navamsas, some of which I will talk about in time. First, try to exercise the mind by mentally calculating, and watch out for those nasty transits! Guest guest
Robert: Thanks so much for this handy tip. I especially like the whole mental calculation angle. As I love to walk, I'll give it a whirl. One question though: I would have thought that for Aquarius natives, Saturn transits wouldn't be as malefic as it is lagnesh. I guess the potential for harm depends on what Saturn is doing in the natal chart. Those with Saturn in an unfriendly sign and a bad house with afflicted aspects will suffer more than those with a Saturn in Libra in the 10th conjunct Jupiter. Actualy in the latter case, I would think the Saturn transit would bring blessings. As far as remedial measures goes, I would just like to add that for those who can't think of the Maha-mantra without thinking of the George Harrison song My Sweet Lord and then playing air guitar during the solo, Saturn can also be strengthened by providing service and charity to the elderly and the poor. Guest guest
Hello Chris, At 11:37 AM 4/21/01 -0400, you wrote: >Robert: > >Thanks so much for this handy tip. You are welcome - after a while, it becomes second nature, to see the position of a planet in your Ephemeris, and then mentally calculate its Navamsa position. Seeing the Navamsa sign cross-referenced to the natal chart, adds a deeper dimension to transits, and the accuracy of this will be a consistent at all times. A great gook on the subject of Navamsas, and various Nadi secrets to the use, is as follows: "Navamsa and Nadi Astrology", by C.S. Patel. >One question though: I would have thought that for Aquarius natives, Saturn >transits wouldn't be as malefic as it is lagnesh. I guess the potential >for harm depends on what Saturn is doing in the natal chart. Those with >Saturn in an unfriendly sign and a bad house with afflicted aspects will >suffer more than those with a Saturn in Libra in the 10th conjunct Jupiter. > Actualy in the latter case, I would think the Saturn transit would bring >blessings. In general, you would expect that a planet like Saturn, coming to conjoin its own sign by rasi or Navamsa transit, would be favorable, as per the rules of judgement given by Parasara. In practice, however, it does not always work out that way. For the subtleties, you are right, that natal placement and configurations with Saturn tell the tale so far as just how malefic he will be. In my experience, Saturn always "feels" malefic, as his energy is Tamasic, slow, and depressive. Yet, what the remote purposes there are that are served by this planet, are very broad, and we can only get philosophical to attach some meaning to them. Lets just say, that for Aquarius lagnas, or other strong emphasis in this sign, Saturn must be doing some short-term beneficial thing (as the Navamsa transit itself only lasts about a month), yet it seems that everybody who is undergoing this influence currently, is having a hard time of it. I underwent some depression also, given Aquarius is my 5th. Another point is, that Rahu joining Saturn adds to the Tamasic energy, and further the actual rasi transit of Saturn from Taurus, is strongly influential on the Aq. sign also. So too big a conference of malefic energies, can obscure what we ordinarily would expect as a "favorable" transit, i.e. of Saturn coming to his own sign. Certainly Saturn alone transiting the Navamsa of Aquarius (with the rasi transit of Saturn not aspecting that sign), probably would not amount to too much. >As far as remedial measures goes, I would just like to add that for those >who can't think of the Maha-mantra without thinking of the George Harrison >song My Sweet Lord and then playing air guitar during the solo, Saturn can >also be strengthened by providing service and charity to the elderly and >the poor. Funny that you mention George Harrison's song - he got sued for that song, for copyright infringement, because the melody line was too close to a song released in the sixties by "Martha and the Vandelas". Anyway, yes, you can propitiate Saturn by doing charitable works, and that is good. There is, however, no comparison to the transcendental benefit of reciting the names of God, as per Vedic mantra. I especially like the part about Great Happiness coming from the sub periods of 1- The Navamsa depositor of the natal Ascendant lord, 2- any planets in the same house together with the 7th lord, and the Navamsa dispositor of the 5th lord. Check it out, guys. You also hit the nail on the head re: Aquarius --that's my Lagna Lord too, and Mars and Mercury are in Aquarius Navamsa (which is 64th Nav from Moon)--nothing bad has happened but lots of stress at work and my normal energy (Mars in ASC) is gone, really dragging. Feels like "I vant to be alone." Looking forward to the 25th. Feels weird, especially after doing spring cleaning & having friends over a lot, really craving company.
