Namaste.

 

Special abilities can be seen from Dharmamsa(D-9) and Nakshetramsa(D-27).

Rasi can be seen for all purposes, but the latter are more detailed.

 

In this regard some special notes are needed.

 

1. Narayana.

Malefics represent Vasudevaya(extroverted/action), and benefics represent

Shakti(introverted/unused power), and hence Vasudevaya cannot perform actions

without Shakti and Shakti derives her power from Vasudevayas actions, in an

ongoing cycle. Combined they are Narayana.

 

So the power of the mind to perform such actions are due to the malefics, whilst

the benefics give ability in poetry and scripture, thus inate.

 

2. Dharmic Abilities.

Jaimini states that the trines to swamsa(Karakamsa or Navamsa lagna), if

occupied by malefics the person gains expertise in spells and occult knowledge.

 

If these malefics are aspected by other malefics then the expertise is black

magic(harming others), whist benefics aspecting gives whit magic(helping

others). One benefic is enough especially Jupiter..

 

When these combinations are formed from Navamsa lagna the person learns them

through life and can use them in earning a living. If this combination rises

from Karakamsa(Chara atmakaraka in navamsa), the person is born with these

abilities.

 

Sanjay Rath adds in his notes that:" At least one malefic gives knowledge of

mantra, two indicates knowledge of mantras and their usage while more malefics

indicate knowledge of Yantras and Tantra."

 

D-27 shows both strengths and weaknesses, so if 3rd house is severely afflicted

the person has trouble writing and reading, whilst 2nd would show distinct

trouble in speaking. Ketu in 5th makes one apt in meditation.. etc.
