I have become accustomed to saying that it's about the persons "inner mental/emotional experience", taking the Moon as the emotional ascendent and the real ascendent as the physical ascendent>> Yes, Das is right but i would like to add something interesthing that Raman said. He said that for general readings we should take the lagna from 0 to 32 years of age cos people up to that age are mostly on the physical level. The chandra lagna is used between 32 and 64 when people are mostly on the mental level. And the solar lagna is used between 64 and forever cos it is when people are mostly thinking about where their souls are going after departing the physical body. You can read about it in A Catechism of Astrology (vol 1) by BV Raman page 82, where he quotes Varahamihira. I have to say as well that the programe GJ has the capability of changing the lagna sign to the Moon sign or to the Sun sign at the click of a button. If fact you can change to any of the 12 signs if you are following the north Indian style. This function is very useful because in that way we can study more easily the position of the planets in regard to the planet that we want to observe. For example, lets see a chart that has Aries lagna with Saturn in Aries, the moon is in taurus and the Sun is in Gemini. From the ascendant sign we see that Saturn is in the 1st house, the moon is in the second house and the Sun is in the 3rd house. The GJ can change the graphic to make the Moon sign as the Moon lagna instead of having Aries lagna. from the Moon lagna Taurus we can see obviously that the Moon is in lagna, Saturn is in the 12th house and the sun is in the 2nd. So the reading of the chart changes. Now, suppose that the native of this horoscope is running the Sun main period. The GJ can change the graphic to the Sun lagna and from there we can see that the Sun is in the 1st house, the Moon is in the 12th and Saturn is in the 11th. In a general reading we can say that during the Moon bukti in the Sun dasa, the native has to struggle more to achieve his projects because the Moon is in the 12th from the Sun. While the Saturn bukti is going to be more easy cos of being in the 11th from the Sun. I am aware that we have a lot of newcomers on this list and that is why i am trying to explain things as easy as possible. Of course, we have to take into consideration other factors like the natural friendship between the planets, their rulership of houses, their association etc but one of the general rules says that planets on the 2nd, 6th, 8th or 12th houses from the planet ruling the main period, indicate hardship during their buktis within the main period of that planet. In this way, GJ is very practical because at the click of a button we can change the lagna and see the rest of the planets in different houses with respect to that particular lagna and assess the potential of the planets. regards natabara

Sorry, too hard for me to palate. Manoj _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Again when he is not there to defend him why he said so ? Guest guest
Dear Mani Avl, Your views now come when I have totally forogotten the context of this statement so I wont be able to say anything about it. But do we discuss the fallacies of FDR, Nehru, Indira, Churchill or leave it because they are dead and cant come back to defend themselves. One is free to form any opinion one likes. For me, I would continue to speak truth and nothing else. Kindly pick up his book on notable horoscopes and see how many horoscopes listed there are historically incorrect. Lets leave it here........ no fun in continuing an endless, limitless debate which actually has lost its meaning. best regards, Manoj >ravindramani <ravindramani >gjlist >gjlist >Re: [gjlist] Chandra lagna >Thu, 23 Aug 2001 22:23:51 -0700 (PDT) > > >--- Manoj Pathak <manojpathak wrote: > > Hello friends, > > > > >Yes, Das is right but i would like to add something interesthing > > that Raman > > >said. > > > > > >He said that for general readings we should take the lagna from 0 to > > 32 > > >years of age cos people up to that age are mostly on the physical > > level. > > >The chandra lagna is used between 32 and 64 when people are mostly > > on the > > >mental level.
