This lady has Libra lagna with Venus conjoined Saturn in 7th-house, Rahu in 6th-house, Mars in 2nd-house. She is in Venus-Rahu (vimshottari) dasa. She has recently undergone minor surgery. Also, (unrelated to surgery) the lady is withdrawing from taking rather strong pain-reducing drug, which she has taken for (apparently) several years due to severe physical stresses she undergoes in her work. She has not felt well for the past several months, which I have attributed to the Venus (physical body)-Rahu (in 6th-house of illness). Correct? What I don't understand is the astrological indication of the pain...which is only recently (last few days, if I understand her correctly). Is Mars the karaka of pain? Guest guest Posted April 6, 2001 Report Share Posted April 6, 2001 Hello David LaGrone, Venus is the ascendant lord, which represents the physical body, in a maraka house conjunct a debilitated Saturn, under the 2nd house aspect of Rahu. Venus itself, which is a neutral planet for Libra ascendant becomes a maraka due to his exchange with the double maraka Mars. So Venus becomes like Mars, who is the worst killer for this ascendant. Therefore there is severe pain in this cycle. So Mars has a most serious role in inflicting pain in this case. The 6th lord is responsible for pain. Rahu is the 6th lord, acting like Jupiter which has the worst ownership for pain for Libra ascendants. Rahu ruling drugs gives the withdrawal. Rahu in the 12th from Venus gives hospitilization.
