Guest guest
Dear Members, I've taken a quick break from my current (time consuming) projects to share with you some totally off (jyotish) thoughts. There is a story on our News of a Man from Pakistan who, after being granted refugee status in this country, has fought for the past five years to have his wife and daughter join him. The problem seems to be that his daughter is handicapped (or chronically ill) in some way and the government's excuse for allowing this man's torture to continue for so long is the huge burden his daughter may be on our health system (?!?!!). Yesterday, after all hope was lost, this man set himself alight and is now in intensive care fighting for his life. I am thoroughly ashamed of my government's lack of human compassion and feel (deeply) my involvement...as an Australian...guilty by association... To my mind this man's sad case is the epitome of human suffering. I pray that he recovers and that his family can join him soon. How can a man be denied his family for so many (long) years by a country that prides itself on doing the "right thing". What a different world this would be if our actions were based on compassion. Presently, no doubt because of Jupiter's heavy affliction from Saturn & Mars, there is a distinct increase in cruelty & violence and an unmistakable lack of compassion in human affairs. I hope all will join me in wishing this poor man and his family well. Regards Wendy
