Chakras and astrology

Dear Noel and others,

 

I'm very interested in your work with ayurveda and astrology and I'm hoping

you wouldn't mind saying a few words about how the chakras their

astrological indicators relate. I've been curious as to why there are

different chakra/planet schemes and wondering which one you find works

better in your experience.

 

For Example:

 

Sanjayji in "Vedic Remedies in Astrology" assigns mooladhara(base) to

mercury, swadhisthana( sex) to venus, manipura(navel) to mars,

anahata(heart) to moon, visuddha (throat) to Saturn, ajna( third eye) to

Jupiter and sahasrara ( crown) to Sun.

 

and David Frawley in "Astrology of the Seers" assigns Sun/ moon both third eye

(ajna), mercury to throat, venus to heart, mars to navel, Jupiter to sex,

and Saturn to root.

 

Is there a historical reference that speaks on this subject? I'd like to

learn how to integrate these great branches of this Divine Science.
