Guest guest
Dear Karen As someone pointed out the relationship between Astrology & Ayurveda got severed a long time a go! I'm still trying to see the connection my self. I think it's important and probably the last stage to the first initial cause, out side of the obvious karmametic repercussions. I have a tendency to follow Farawley's thought process because I respect all his other work, but as you pointed out there is still a lot of different opinions on this topic. I my self have in using my self as a guinea pig may have caused more problems then cure! On the other hand there is a saying about the road to health, its like pealing back the layers of an onion. You no sooner get rid of one problem and another arises. Meher Baba refers to it as the winding and unwinding, and god knows I did a lot of winding in LA. back in the 60s. I've come a long way since then and I'm very very good at tolerating my own suffering to a fault. My main focus is on finding the answers to help other people to much so that I have a tendency to not take care of my self! but I'm trying to correct that in me. As for my studies, after watching my mother die of cancer; and studying the western way; and releasing that mortal man can't fathom 6 to 7 billion chemical reactions in the body every second: knowing that there had to be an answer [ seek and ye shell find ] it finally lead me to Ayurveda. I would love to write more but I must leave for work. Bless you...........Noel

Dear Noel/Karen, The relationship did not get broken off suddenly, but times changed and astrologers could not help the doctors! The two sciences could not keep in step. The discovery of new herbs etc made the association of herb and planets difficult to determine. Also loss of information and needs of civilization. Nadi readings often give cures for chronic illnesses. For me it was: sitting in a trough made of some special wood, filled with a decoction of some herbs, six hours every day for 6 months! Even if we could identify the wood and the herbs, how could I do the sitting as a wage-earner? Differences in planetary associations is also a problem. Some were "revealed", some established empirically, some just presumed. One wonders about the enormous knowledge of ancient Indian and Chinese doctors. My question is: what made those civilizations so sick that this knowledge could be acquired at all - and was necessary? Amerindians got by with a handful of herbs, and judging by their wrinkles, apparently lived long healthy lives. As also the apricot eaters in the Himalayas. regards Mani
