Guest guest
Namasta & greetings Inder Jit Sahni I must admit that half of what you said went right over my head! As I stated before I am but a mere child of Jyotish. On the other hand the half that I understood, I was very impressed with. You seem to have a good insight into this young lady. Can you tell me which Ayanamsa your using and why? My figures don't match yours, although they are close! I have ascendant at 21 degrees & 45 minutes Cancer. I use Sir Yukteswar; only because I am very found of his disciple's [ Premavatar Paramahansa Yogananda] work. I know the general conscience is to use Lahiri and I'm not experienced enough to know which is more accurate, I just lean this way because it feels right. I find it mind boggling that to enlightened man in the same lineage can come up with different Ayanamsa, and I sure don't wish to start a list debate over this; I would assume that it's been debated to death; but I would be interested in you opinion. Back to the young lady! she is a very peaceful and composed Young lady, health conscious, serious student and a very gifted acupressest / masseuse. If in deeded that she is headed into a chronic disease, I would like to give her the chance to change her destiny, if at all possible. I would think that she would be more of an asset to her self and others if this gifted young lady could alter her future and remain healthy. I would appreciate any help you can give me in this matter. God bless you my friend............Noel

Guest guest
Dear Noel, Namakaar, You wrote, <Can you tell me which Ayanamsa your using and why?> I use Lahiri - 6 minutes or you can say Krishnamurty ayanasha, because it has given me very accurate results , in my day to day practice of Astrology for timing events. ..< I use Sir Yukteswar; only because I am very found of his disciple's [ Premavatar Paramahansa Yogananda] work.> This is no reason to use this ayanasha , I don't recommend even KP ayanasha to you because I am using it. My own views for different Ayanasha given by different Astrologers is a state of imperfection among them. Who among them was 100% right. All did it to keep their name alive. If you are new in astrology , it is you , who can do wonder in this science. Because old are saturated and will stick to their views, they will look like orthodox. Astrology is a very practical science. What is visible by Dasa , must match transit, and what is shown by a birth chart of Consultant , must match with the running stars at the time of consultation of an Astrologer (I said an astrologer not a quake). Or leave that Ayansha, apply another , check up with your findings. When you will attach yourself to be Disciple , you will remain that , your next birth will be again within his disciple and you will remain in a well. Lord Budha before enlightenment moves to many Guru , but he did not attach himself to any. He used them and left them as one leaves the boat after crossing the River. I know of A Jain Mahatama , who don't believe in modern calculation of Planets and will stick to Suriya Sidhanta, even if the planets calculated with this book have become irrelevant today, and their positions does not match in the sky. Krishnamurty , whose System ,which I follow ( I don't strictly follow it) has advocated his system only. He had given many new thoughts but all are developed from the old ; He had united western and eastern system , and proved that Vishmotary dasha is correct to the minute subdivisions of a nativity. Among House system on which western Astrology is confused , he gave a touch of Vishmotary to Placidus Cusp method and two works wonderfully. I started with Vedic in 1971 , entered in KP in 1982, realized in 1990 that KP is also not a final word. Turned to nadi methods and ultimately find out that Vedic Astrology is great , all the Astrologers are contributing to it a very little after taking too much from it. So is me , but I feel satisfied if I could motivate even one on the list. With Regards, Inder Jit Sahni

Dear Inder Jit, Excellent answer. The testing of dasas and ayanamsas is tough if you try to apply the basic ideas. But if you go about it empirically you can get good results with any system, if you become skilful! You can cut a potato with all sorts of instruments. You actually devise your own method, unconsciously change the symbolism to suit. Your reasoning will not fit the parameters of other systems, but within your system tit is okay! Intuition is the greater part of astrology, I´m afraid. We should not remain in wells, as you say. Every teacher or father expects his dsciples and children to outdo him in their lives, not stagnate where he stopped. regards Mani

Hi, hope I'm not butting in too much, but would you talk a bit about Nadi methods? Have a couple of books, but I know you may mean something different than what I'm thinking (i.e., Bhrigu Nandi Nadi, Nadi Jyotisha Meena--both of which I found different and fascinating). Thanks, Robin

Thanks for your posts- it seems you bring something new to the list, and I wouldn't be surprised that many listers would like to hear more about your experience, as I do, myself. In your last post you mentioned not only Nadi approach, that I don't know anything about, but also your special usage of Vimsoraty with Placidus houses: since you mentioned that, I believe it would be of benefit to most of us, if you would explain your experience re: importance of the star that a planet is- like in my case, Moon is in the star of Mercury, Mercury in the star of Venus, and I am in deb. Moon (Scorpio) dasha, Cancer rising. Your opinion, that I believe would be interesting to everybody, is that wearing pearls makes things worse, because Mercury is in 6th house(and Moon is in it's star), and you would suggest strengthening Mercury(and only trough Mercury strengthening Venus would be possible, if I understood you right?) with green stone, instead. Must admit that I've never heard about such an approach, and it's difficult for me to grasp, so I hope that if you explained that to the group, I would be better able to understand it and learn, of course. If you would tell us a bit about Nadi and this, would be great! Thanks a lot. Anna
