Robert,

That was excellent! You made so much sense out of this chart that's been

puzzling me. Debilitated means humility, now I get it. Aren't you an author?

If so what books did you write? If not, you ought to be.

Thanks again,

Robin

Robert,

Just went to your site, knew you were an author! I'm saving up for a

reading, too. When you do a reading, do you put the astrological causes in

them (to help with learning)?

Thanks,

Robin

Hello Jeff,

The question you have raised vis a vis Neecha bhanga comes up a lot, and

there are no really clear guidelines in the Parasari literature to far as

how much, or to what extent a Neecha planet is cancelled. Neecha bhanga

Raja yogas, however, are powerful and should be given all the weight, if

not more, than most Raja-yogas. There is a saying that goes like this

regarding the efficacy of exalted and debilitated planets in Kali-yuga:

"Grahe uche niche va, srimantah"

This means that both exalted as well as debilitated planets make one a

"Srimantah", or a very prosperous person. This applies mainly in

Kali-yuga, wherein the seed of greater wealth is one's humility, not one's

prowess. Very often, persons with exalted planets (although they make one

powerful or prosperous), will show some arrogance or condescension in the

areas represented by those planets in strength. Someone showing humility

(which, by the way is the real meaning of the word "Neecha"), however,

gains greater blessings from the guru and God, and thus neecha planets make

one "Srimantah", or prosperous in the ways the endure, namely attaining

divine consciousness and freedom from Samsara (repetitions of birth and

death).

So coming closer to your question: If a debilitated planet is also a

yoga-karaka for the horoscope, and joins an exalted planet in a good house

(kendra or trikona), then the result will be a Neecha-bhanga Raja-yoga. In

these cases, the cancellation not only applies fully, but the effects of

Raja-yoga are felt. Apart from such yogas, a neecha planet getting

cancellation, will only give marginally better results, if not a yoga

karaka and not involved with stronger yoga producing planets. Neecha

planets, however, which are exalted in the Navamsa chart, will give better

results than other neecha-bhangas that apply only in the rasi

chart. Similarly, planets that are exalted in the rasi chart, but

debilitated in the Navamsa, will give worse effects than if their natal

dispositors only were weak.

Best wishes,

Robert

Thank you for your kind words, and yes, I think I am always authoring at

least one book, although time and printing resources are at a

scarcity. Anyway, whenever something I've been working on gets published,

you will be the first to get a copy.

Best wishes,

Robert
