Guest guest
VZ: I think you forgot to include the birth time for your friend born 10/09/41. Could you supply it and then I'll take a run at this. Chris At 03:06 PM 3/8/01 +0100, you wrote: >Hi, >thank you for your response. I did Dirah. Guest guest
Sanny: I took a look at your friend's chart and there are some clear indications for her original move in 1995. Let's look at them first so we know how it worked the first time and then apply them to her current situation. She was running Sat-Mer then and presto! The same 4/12 situation is repeated as Saturn is in the 12th and Mercury is lord of the 4th placed. So that's a good fit that you would have easily spotted as a vedic astrologer. Now, what about transits and how could we narrow it down from that 3 year window? I don't know when your friend moved but first thing is to look at the transit of the dasha lords, Saturn and Mercury. If there's a slow moving planet involved, then its transit will almost definitely be involved in a clear way. Mercury moves too fast to trigger big events, although it should be in the "right" sign in the final analysis. So Saturn's worth a look. It was in Aq for most of 95 except for a little nudge into Pisces in the summer and then moved retorgrade after that back into Aq. Where should we place it? Aq is the 9th house which IS a travel house so that is a broad fit, but it doesn't make any close aspects with any key planets, just Venus in the 6th and that's not obviously involved in the emigration pattern. Pisces is appealing too because it's 3 houses (the Saturn aspect) from natal Saturn in the 12th and the Moon in the 12th, which is the karaka for home. For emigration, I would like to see some transit aspects to either the 12th lord or a planet in the 12th. OTOH, if a 12th house planet is transiting, then it should be making contact to either the 4th lord or a planet in the 4th house. And if it doesn't work this way, remember you have to repeat the whole thing from the Moon. Anyway, both Aq and Pisces are possible transit Saturn locations for now. Let's leave Mercury's transit for now and move on to Rahu. Rahu is always an important transit for ALL major events and what's important to remember is that it is also effective outside of its dasha periods. It operates on its own logic; a very powerful force. That notion is taken directly from SA, BTW, and I think it's true. In this natal chart, Rahu may have an extra special connection to moves and home since it is in Leo, 4th from the Moon. Now look at Rahu's transit for 95. It was in Libra, the same sign as 4L Mercury! That's a big hit in my books. Rahu is a malefic and it is afflicting the home/4th house lord/4th house so that will likely figure prominently in a big move or emigration. But how close can you time it? In my experience, you can't jump to conclusions and look for the point of exact conjunction and do the prediction from there. It *can* happen that way of course, but often it is off by several degrees, sometimes more. Rahu was exactly conjunct Mercury back in Jan 95, using the mean node. What can Mercury tell us now about the month of emigration? You might recall that rule I mentioned before about a dasha lord passing through its sign of debilitation. I would use this since emigration is an affliction to Mercury's 4th house portfolio so perhaps Mercury's transit to Pisces in late March early April coincided with her emigration. That would be guess number one. And transiting Rahu would only be 3 or 4 degrees from Mercury in Libra. But Mercury's transit to Aquarius (9th house of travel) in January may also have produced the move as this would coincide with the exact Rahu conjunction with natal Mercury and t. Saturn was also in Aquarius so there's a certain fit there too. So those would be my two preliminary guesses. However, I would caution you that without looking at the varga charts, you're really guessing a bit too much. As a former western astrologer and fan of Rick Houck, I "cheat" quite a bit and use progressions and directions (and solar returns, etc) to make sure my guesses are correct (OK, to reduce my mistakes) and to focus my thinking. Just using transits and dashas alone is very difficult but worth trying. I hope I'm not overloading you here, but if you're looking at emigration, you've got to look at the D-4 chart. If you have good vedic software like Goravani Jyotish, it will show the exact varga positions of the planets with degreees. I prefer working with these positions as they give me a chance to see exactly where the conjunctions occur. For instance, in D-4 here, Virgo (Mercury ruled!) rises at 1Vi34 and this makes Sagittarius the all important 4th house in D-4. Actually both of these signs/rulers are important for timing moves, as well as the 12th and 7th and sometimes 9th. In this case, there is a really neat occurrence. Look at 4th lord Jupiter. It's in Aquarius at 23Aq57. Now remember that Saturn transit that wasn't touching anything in the natal chart? Well, it's touching this Jupiter, and this Jupiter is closely connected with home and moving. Interestingly, Saturn exactly aspects this Jupiter by its 10 house aspect in the last week or so of March. That fits nicely with one of our earlier guesses when Mercury was transiting Pisces. So based on that -- and without any confirmatory western progressions (promise!) -- it's possible that she moved to NZ at the end of March. OTOH, if Mercury's rising in the D-4 chart AND it's 4th house lord, then contacts to it in the D-4 chart should be taken very seriously for timing moves. Note that in early June, transiting Ketu (the flip side of Rahu) is conjunct this D-4 Mercury while t. Saturn is in Pisces making all those great 12th house natal contacts. So really there's a case to be made for both, although I prefer the March guess. Wait a second! I just noticed that the Saturn transit into Pisces has some important consequences: since the D-4 Asc is at 1Ge34 (all these positions are krishnamurti so don't worry if yours are off by a few minutes) so when Saturn makes its station around the first degree of Pisces(1Pi02) in the first week of July, that's an almost exact opposition to that D-4 Ascendant. And that ascendant is HUGE when it comes to moves and emigration. So I just changed my mind. I think your friend moved in early July 95. I may be wrong, I often am! However, that is the basic approach that you can use with moves and emigration. So now, why don't YOU apply some of these ideas to her future prospects for moving this year. You're half way there; you've got the Saturn-Sun dashs period isolated as a hot zone for moving. Exactly right, I would say. Now apply some of these same rules: what is Saturn's transit doing? What is Rahu's transit doing? And when what sign might the Sun be transiting for move to occur? You may also decide to descend into the dark depths of the varga charts. Is anything aspecting that 1Ge34 Ascendant? Is anything aspecting that D-4 4th lord Jupiter? Or lagnesh Mercury in D-4? Lots of questions that need answers...:-) So give it a whirl and get back to me. Chris At 10:29 PM 3/8/01 +0100, you wrote: >Hi Christopher, > >re: time of birth > >how stupid can a person be.
