Guest guest
It's true! Even though you may think you have read this somewhere, it may serve to read it again...Be well. As we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following: -57 Asians -21 Europeans -14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south -8 Africans -52 would be female -48 would be male -70 would be non-white -30 would be white -70 would be non-Christian -30 would be Christian -89 would be heterosexual -11 would be homosexual 6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth, and all 6 would all be from the United States -80 would live in substandard housing! -70 would be unable to read -50 would suffer from malnutrition! -1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth -1 would have a college education -1 would own a computer The following is also something to ponder... --As you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week. --As you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world! --As you can attend a church or spiritual meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than three billion people in the world. --As you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world! --As you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. --As you can read this message, received was a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, more blessed than over the two billion people in the world that cannot read at all. When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the requirement for positive action becomes glaringly apparent. Some suggestions: 1--Please, sit and write down all the blessings that you have. 2--Please, post this list somewhere where you can read it from time to time [like on the refrigrator or in your wallet]. 3--Please, look around your home and spend 5 minutes thinking about the concepts, "excess" and "abundance". 4--Please, consider simplifying--giving away old clothes, books, and unused items that are sitting in attics & storage spaces to the nearest non-profit organization...[even one or two garbage bags of stuff would do] 5--Please, as you really can't give away, write & send a check to a non-profit "food, clothing or shelter" organization. 6--Please, call, send cards or email everyone you care about and express your love & thanks for their presence in your life. 7--Please, look your immediate loved ones in the eye, express thanks, and share a quiet moment hugging in loving gratitude. 8--Please, look in the mirror and ask yourself what you can do to keep yourself more healthy, and then just commit to do it! [even as you have to re-commit again and again] 9--Please, the next time you see a homeless person or one in distress, acknowledge them..."hi", "how are you?", or "stay strong" as they might not be as blessed as you. 10--Please, try to keep in the fore-front of our minds to not have anything for granted while we are stuck in traffic, waiting in line at the grocery store or feeling impatient for our computer to connect!...use this time to be thankful! 11--Please, as you don't already, recycle as much as possible to help eliminate Mother Earth's burden of waste, which helps everyone. 12--Lastly, please pass this message on to others it may benefit. As you are able to do some or all the things from this list, you are making a difference for creating positive change, and it definitely ripples out...it's either going to make you feel good and/or someone else..it's a win/win! Thank you for your time... Peace~ _______________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
