Guest guest
I too have worked with the very old and people who are at deaths door from cancer or scleroderma. It is much different to actually be close to these people, to smell and touch them, than to simply imagine the situation. When I was diagnosed three years ago with several tumors, I immediately went and got a living will. That was absolutely the first thing that I did. I do not understand the mindset that says that people should be kept alive by machines despite their personal wishes especially if they are in pain. I have seen people suffer horribly and needlessly, praying for death or for someone to unplug the machine that is keeping them alive and in constant agony. Fortunately the tumors were benign and I will probabaly be around for a while. But I absolutely beleive in a person's right to die, and a person's right to refuse treatment. donna > As a personal choice, I have written a 'Live > Will', detailing my wishes > in case of incapacitation.
