Guest guest
Dear Sarva, Dandavats. Yes, i agree with you. I do not like the money orientated mentality of some gem dealers, which is a vaisya mentality. Brahminical mentality should prevail in vedic astrological circles and i am sure that there are a lot of them around. Regarding the influence of the Gems, i feel that the human body is both subtle and gross, earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intellect and false ego. According to the vedas, from the collective ego, emanates the collective intellect and a new development comes until the earth is manifsted. Within the ether level, sound exists (and ultrasonic waves as well). Because of fire, our eyes can see and therefore colors appear. Dr Raman explain very nicely how the 7 planets rule a very important system in our body, from digestion, blood, to bones, marrow and semen/ova. When a planet is weak in the horoscope, that particular system ruled by that planet, suffers and the planet has to be helped. Similar to constipation or diarrhea, both are unhealthy & we have to take proper measures to keep a healthy organism. When medicine goes up, karma goes down. According to the vedas, there are medicines in tamas, rajas and satva. Tamasic measures include surgery and ayurveda explain how to make surgical instruments. Satvic medicine includes mantras, yantras and gems. They all work on a subtle level. Mantras work with sonic waves, yantras with earth & sound and gems with colors. Ayurveda advises to keep prana in a balanced harmony, and prana is very subtil. Colors are also an indicator of health or illness. So, i feel that gems help with their color. Srila Prabhupada explain somewhere in the CC that when we mix 2 colors we get 3 and when we mix 9 colors we get 81, and in that way we can get a lot of shades. Gems must work on the level of fire in our body. That is my feeling. Regarding the inner structure of gems. We know that bees have an amazin way to build their combs with a hexagonal shape. In geometry, there are a lot of shapes from simple to sophisticated. The geometrical patterns within gems must be related to the transmission of light, just like our retine in the eyes responds to light.
