Dear List Members:

A friend of mine recently discovered several blood clots under her skin.

There has been no diagnosis but the doctors are very concerned.

If anyone would like to review the following chart for possible remedial

measures to supplement possible medical proceedures it would be appreciated.

In addition to the blood clots, this woman is anorexic and has not

experienced a menstrual period in over 3 years.

DOB: 10/26/75

00.28 AM PST

Santa Rosa, California, USA

Thanks in advance.

From what I can see she has a debilitated sun in libra, [low Agni; digestive

fire]. The problem with this is that if you try to treat this by strengthening

her sun {Pitta} You may dry her out further. It sounds to me like her anorexic

has created a high Vata imbalance, drying out kapha and Ojas!

TEXT-BOOK AYURVEDA

AMENORRHOEA: Is a condition of primary a Vata imbalance occurring by dry up the

menstrual secretions. This condition occurs typically in woman with low Ojas.

Pitta's role is usually minimal in this condition. only in long standing pitta

imbalance. The excessive heat dries out secretions.

VATA TYPE AMENORRHOEA TREATMENT

Pacify Vata Apana in the Purishvaha Srota with

LAXATIVES: Psyllium, Triphala, & Flax seed.

Pacify Vata Vyana in the Rasa Dhatu with

DEMULCENTS: Licorice & Shatavari.

Pacify Prana Vayu in the Manovaha Srota with

NERVINE SEDATIVE: Gotu kola & Jatamamsi.

Pacify Vata Apana in the Atarvavaha Srota with

EMMENOGOGUES: Mugwort & Dong quai

Pacify Vata Apana in the Shukravaha Srota with

REPRODUCTIVE TONICES: Wild yam & Shatavari

Strengthen Ojas with heavy oily foods, omega 3-6-9 & Ghee. Basmati rice. Vata

reducing diet with emphasis on building up the Rasa {blood} with sour and sweet

taste. Oil her body down with sesame seed oil, 20 minutes before her bath each

day. As she begins to gain weight start leaning to hotter and spicier foods.

Coriander, Fennel & Cumin will increase Agni [digestive fire] without vitiating

Pitta. GOD BE WITH YOU ...........Noel

>From my observation of her chart this is what I see. The ascendant lord

(which is her sense of self )is badly placed in the 12th house. I know it

is involved in a strong Raja Yoga with the Yoga Karaka Mars, but I think

there are things that this 12th house Raja Yoga cannot overturn at this

time in her life. Saturn is sitting in the first house and she is in

Saturn Mahadasha. Saturn is a strong malefic for Cancer Ascendant and

all it's houses as well as it's associations and aspects are all being

karmiclly lit up right now. So the moon ( being the dispositor of Saturn

) which is very sensitive, is being affected emotionally. Also, Saturn is

aspecting Mercury in his exaltation sign of Virgo which rules the navel

region. As we know Mercury tends to be a nervous planet. So, regardless

of the fact that Mercury is in his exaltation sign and Moon/Mars are in

Raja Yoga in the 12th, I think Saturn (in his Mahadasha) is reeking havoc

in both areas (her sense of self, nervous system, and the navel region of

her anatomy). Also, benefics in the third cause timidity and this

amplifies Saturns aspect.

One other thing is that she is very attractive (Venus (karaka of beauty)

and lord of an angle in the 2nd house of the face) and successful

(Jupiter in the ninth). If we put together the cultural idolization of

beauty and success and how contrary Saturn's energies are to that sort of

thing, then we have a soul being torn apart and stretched incredibly.

This, I think explains the Anorexia Nervosa.

As far as the blood clots go I think this is due to Moon/Mars in the

twelfth and the influence that Saturn is having on it's dispositor the

Moon. Saturn is a dry and airy planet and what are these clots but blood

that has moved to the surface and are drying out. Moon and Mars are both

karaka's (significators) of blood. I offer the following quote as an

example: "The planet Moon is "Liquid" in nature as already stated. It is

the fastest moving planet. It also gives life and nourishment. The blood

in the human body is almost an exact parralel in as much as blood too is

liquid, fast moving and life giving.

Thus, if the Moon in any horoscope is the lord of the lagna or the lord

of the 4th house and is badly situated, and under purely malefic

influence, it denotes that the native is most likely to suffer from the

diseases of the blood, such as blood pressure, anaemia etc. " (Astro

Sutras by J.N. Bhasin)

Now, lest I worsen the condition of a poor soul in torment, let me offer

a few suggestions. She has planets in all the Moksha houses (4,8,12) and

two of those 8 and 12 are involved in the Karma's of Saturn which are

unfolding during this dasha period. By the way I think the Sun's

debilitation is cancelled by being in an exchange with Venus and also

the position of the Moon with Mars the Yogakaraka. Still, most definitely

a Vata imbalance with depleted Kapha and Ojas. Speaking from both

observation and experience I have found that so many problems come about

in life (especially people with strong moksha charts) because we resist

the very thing our life is really about. In Vedic Astrology we would say

that her Moon and Mar's are badly placed, but are they really? Someone

needs to encourage her to see all this in the light of Moksha. Saturn can

be a great time of spiritual progress or a time to be bitter and broken.

She needs to see what this difficult time is good for and how to utilize

Saturn's energies. Saturn owning the 8th house of transformation gives

her an opportunity to find out who she really is and

to abandon the fictional self (of beauty and success) that is causing her

so much grief. This all comes thru surrender to God. I watched my Mother

die of Cancer with the mantra, 'Let Go and Let God" on her lips. She

never became bitter. So encourage her. Also, have her propitiate Saturn

with Mantra, especially on Saturday. And Mantra to strengthen the Moon,

Mar's and Mercury as well. A nice moonstone mala (108 beads) to

strengthen her ascendant lord would be a good idea. Make sure she wears

it touching the skin and does 108 Mantra's to Chandra (the Moon) on a

Monday before wearing it . I pray this helps. May Lord Krishna bless her

on this path of opportunity.

One other thing that may be of some benefit for the blood clots is Ginger

or Turmeric or a combination of both. Both are blood thinners and help

circulation. Introduce them slowly over a 3 or 4 day period of time. two

capsules at first and then up to four a day or one to three droppers full

of fresh plant extract. Namaste Jeff

Marcia,

I forgot to check transits. When I checked her current transits

Saturn was aspecting Natal Saturn in the first house. And most important,

she started Sadhesati on June 6th 2000. So I offer this as additional

evidence that her troubles are coming from Saturn. All the more reason to

propitiate Saturn and to surrender to the divine. I wish you both well.

Among other things, she is likely deficient in Vitamin A, which deficiency

can cause dry skin, "night blindness" (lack of Visual Purple to enable rapid

eye adjustment to darkness), menstrual irregularities.

Vitamin A is destroyed when a person spends much time under fluorescent

lighting. It is an inexpensive vitamin found in fish oils, and is beneficial

to eyes, skin, and beauty. Lack of Vitamin A is found in persons experiencing

arthritis. Taken in moderation it can also aid in breathing and make skin

feel smooth and pleasant to the touch.

Best wishes,

Thank you for this information Carol... I have a friend that should know it

and will pass it along.

It should also be noted that Vitamin A is not a water soluble vitamin and

there are safe limits for this Vitamin... not a situation where one should

use excess dosage.

Just a warning from an old time show cat breeder that has seen abuses of this

vitamin (which adds color to certain breeds) that ended with liver damage and

death.... (I understand that there is now regulation in the industry that

bans this usage)

I only mention this because many times people will think that if something is

good, more must be better... so, just a safety note....

Om Krishnaaya Namah

Hi Marcia,

The first thing I noticed about this chart is that all the kendras are

occupied by malefics without any benefic relief. This is classically

considered to be very bad for health matters, particularly in this in case

as the Lagna Lord is in the twelfth afflicted by Mars while the karaka for

health, the Sun, happens to be debilitated in a house where he loses Dig

Bala and who also happens to be afflicted by Rahu. While Mars is the

yogakaraka, when it comes to health, the natural status of the planet often

predominates.

Particularly bad is the fact that the Lord of the seventh and eighth (both

bad for health - Maraka and Trik respectively), happens to be the natural

malefic Saturn in Mrtyu Bhaga in the Lagna, making health problems chronic

and long lasting, and while there is a beneficial aspect from a strong

Jupiter, being the Lord of the sixth and being retrograde at the same time,

while he may keep her going mentally, Jupiter in a way contributes to health

problems, as retrograde sixth Lords often do. Saturn's Maha Dasha is

running, and so the Saturn stuff is coming to a point of fructification.

What's worse is that she is in Sade Sati, and while Saturn transits through

the eleventh, he aspects and reactivates his natal position in the Lagna. In

the twelfth, he transits over the Lagna Lord and it's combination Mars, and

finally when he reaches the lagna itself, not only does he just bring

malefic influence onto the Lagna, he also reactivates his natal position.

Currently, in transit, Rahu is exactly over the Lagna Lord Moon, suggesting

she is going through very difficult times both physically and emotionally,

and while Saturn continues to move ahead, his aspect to his natal position,

to the degree may be particularly distressful, due to the MB factor. Shani

Deva is the main indicator. Your mail focuses particularly on remedial

measures. Don't try to strengthen Saturn with gems. I would suggest worship

Lord Sri Vishnu's Kurma Avatara, as this is specifically related to Saturn.

I personally have experience of the power of the Narasimha Kavacha, and

would recommend this in any case, and in this case particularly as Mars the

fifth Lord (mantras) joins the first Lord, and Mars has a link with Lord

Narasimha. These paths are both spiritual in nature and even if started with

material motivations, may lead her on to discover her path of spirituality,

as there are many spiritual inclinations showing in the chart - Lagna Lord

in twelfth conjunct the fifth Lord, Ninth Lord Jupiter in the ninth etc.

Also, for her anorexia, is she seeing a good psychologist? Anorexia usually

has psychological roots, and if somehow these roots are discovered, maybe

something could be done about them.

Hope it's helped,

Pursottam

Dear Yogini,

I've been offline for a few days so did not respond sooner--my

apologies! I'd read a long time ago that fluorescent lighting causes

deficiency of Vitamin A, but I haven't read any study showing that full

spectrum lighting would be harmful. I imagine full spectrum lighting would

be far more beneficial. Hope this helps!

Namaste:

My humble opinion based on Ayur Vedic Science is that it will

basically increase vata and Pitta ( Alochaka ) and the effect will be

felt depending the individual for example , on your level of OJAS

that means the level of your inmunity , Vaya ( age) , your

predominant Guna and so many other considerations. I won't explain

further than that , sorry.

Hope that helps
