Guest guest
Om Amrtesvaryai Namah! Namaste! Salutations to all of you, who are verily, the embodiments of the Sacred Om!!! did anyone actually check this Mandi information with their own programs? When i took a look thru Sri Jagannatha Hora program, which always displays both Mandi and Gulik (Goravani's demo at least, doesn't display them unless there's a way i don't know of (i did try it tho')), i discovered that according to the Jagannatha program, that although Sun was in Cancer on August 9, 1762, as the author had stated, that Mandi was actually in SCORPIO at 15 degrees, 59 minutes....unless the Sri Jagannatha Hora program is totally inaccurate! When i compared with Goravani Jyotish, i found that both programs had the same results Graha wise....although the GJ demo as i said doesn't display Mandi or Gulik....So what gives here??? did i do something wrong? or? Guest guest
Om Amrteshwaryai Namaha Dear Vishwanathan There are difference of opinion among scholars in the caclulation of Gulika and Mandi. The calculation of Mandi and Gulika depend on Sunrise and Sunset. In JHL there are settings to display Gulika and Mandi- to either start, middle or end of Saturn's portion. The day you have given is Monday and for Monday's the Saturn's portion is the 6th. So according to default settings of JHL Gulika is start of Saturn's portion and Mandi is the middle of Saturn's portion, without doing all the calculations manually I think the program is showing accurately the position of Gulika and Mandi in Scorpio in the 5th from Sun in Cancer. Because assuming Sunrise with Sun in Cancer and Sunset with Sun in capricorn 7th from it, Saturn's portion should fall in Scorpio. I checked the program for Aug 14 2000 Sun @28 Cn, lo and behold Mandi and Gulika are in Scorpio @16 and 5 deg respectively. Of course all these calculation were made for Seattle longitude and will differ for other places.
