Guest guest
Hello Thanks Pursottam for answering Minu's question. You did great. Can I hire you here at my office to do tech support? Actually, there's very little coming in, but that's how I would have answered it. I can see that somebody out there gets my weird list management scheme. Believe me though, in version 3 it's MUCH better. In v2 it's kindof hard to understand it- the interface of list management is odd or strange at best. In v3, you open a new list just under File as if it's a new document, much like in Word or Excel, and then you can drag and drop to it, or cut/copy and paste between lists. All you charts always go into "All my charts", a permanent list that looks like any. But from there you can copy/paste or drag and drop to other you create. It's that simple. That's the way it should be- simple, but powerful. And, you can have as many of them open onscreen as you want, and, you can determine the columns, the column order, width, fonts, colors of that list alone, etc. It's really very powerful. They all open charts of course, they're all sortable, and so forth. So picture lists like word documents, and you got it. Simple, elegant, good looking, highly functional. No BS. I'm learning, slowly, how to do this correctly. V3 is very mature in it's design. I'm being really careful that it's design is professional. I want it to make sense the way Adobe Photoshop makes sense. I'm holding pretty high standards in my head as I do it. It's gotta be "normal" software. I'm demanding that of myself. I want the interface to make sense to people right away if possible, with very little research into the docs. ------------- On Bookshelf, gosh, I can't believe I'm reading a Geovision ad on GJLIST. Barf. I'm kidding. But don't ask me to say anything good about their products. That would be asking a bit much of me. I'm kindof kidding. But what I will say is that v3 of my program has a similar feature in it. A classical ref with a bunch of classics, searchable, just like bookshelf. But my program won't be out for awhile. A good while. (Please don't push me by asking "when", it will be months.) So you might have to get bookshelf in the meanwhile. V3 of my program currently is planned to include this as a program feature, at no additional cost, but I could change my mind on that as there are royalties involved that I'll be absorbing. My experience in search the classics is that it's dissapointing usually. Seems like the real knowledge we want is synthesized. You get so many verses that mention words without really giving you what you want. Anyway, I experience this over and over, but of course, it all depends on what you're looking for I suppose. ------------- Mr Bad Attitude, Raghu Goravani 2852 Willamette St # 353 Eugene OR USA 97405 or Fax: 541-343-0344 "Goravani Jyotish" Vedic/Hindu Astrology Software
Guest guest
Das, I, who has seen the demo of PL2000, a product made by the makers of PL2000, can clearly say that asking about the vedic bookshelf on gjlist would not have made the slightest dent on the followership of GJ, because if GJ=*****, the PL2000=---*!!! That thing needs a can of RAID. I love GJ, and was doubtful about the bookshelf. Therefore the question. But I have the answer. Nothing replaces the actual books. Online stuff is good for a quick reference.. Keep Up the good work!!! And Yes, I will wait for V3.0. Regards Venkatesh
