Guest guest
Dasanudas Mani's posting make me realize something which i missed when i commented on your nice email <<It is also known even to children on the street in India that Radha-Krsna bhaktas attain liberation from material existence.>> I consider myself a Radha-Krishna bhakta but i am not liberated from material existence. I have to pay my bills, my debts & my health goes up & down, in fact i am a rascal. In fact it is my feeling that i will be liberated in one million years from now (if i am lucky). Krishna says that one in a trillion gets liberated. I think that we should clarify this, some Radha-Krishna bhaktas are already liberated from birth, others like me are struggling for liberation & others, does not matter how many rounds they chant (like me again) do not have the chance. The chanting & devotion should be pure otherwise it is noise only. We are like conscripts, learning the art, not masters. I had an argument the other day with a lady that was telling me that a couple in England CAN give liberation at a cost of £300. Liberation is not a cheap thing, it cost more than that, it cost your full surrender. She said "but there are already many enlightened people thanks to them". So i ask what enlightenment means for her "do they flash like a light bulb?" We should ask those questions what liberation really means? To me the path to liberation starts when we surrender to Divinity within our hearts, then help comes and guru appears. Initiation is just the "official" beginning of our path. Some people believe that just because they received initiation they are "liberated" & they commit all sort of sins, like looking down on people that are "inferior" to them. That is inmaturity, i have seen many "liberated" people ending badly after making a mess of people's lives. Do they get a reaction for their acts?. Of course, even in science, we learn that every action has a reaction. I heard that one day an spiritual master saw in the street a tramp (man living on the streets) giving his own coat to another tramp that needed protection from the weather. That guru said to his disciples, bring me that man, he is a real devotee, even if he do not has much on him, he is given away his own protection to help his brother in the street. That ex-tramp is now living in an ashram. That is love, helping others disregarding what. What is the point of being "liberated" if we do not have any love? Love comes from the heart, we do not learn it, it is there, within the heart. Some of us may have that love hidden by the dust of our ignorance, but in time, with love & devotion, that ignorance will dissapear and discover the love within us all. We are born from nectar, from His love, that is why we have love in our hearts. Lets learn to display it, with discretion of course. But do not tell me that this or that have love, i want to see real LOVE and that is the monopoly of the Lord our God, anything else is just cheating.
