According to what standards of society? Incest is a "crime". Yet we are all children born of incest! Mani, I personally grow tired of you playing this role. It's not really helpful to anyone, no matter how much it may seem, I don't know, "open" or "wide viewing" or whatever. You are stressing one side of truth over and over, and in my opinion, the part you stress is not good to be over-stressed. It's good for people to avoid having sex with their own children, and there has to be sex for procreation of humans, and so there's standards for how it should be done, and you and I both know what they are, so this playing the wise wide person gets old in my opinion. Just an opinion. I guess I'm saying, why not consider not always playing devils advocate against obvious dharmic stuff. raghu

I was not in anyway defending or excusing sex with one´s children!!!!!! (My own views on sex are actually very conservative, but I do try to think liberal and as a matter of fact do not like to discuss sex!) I was rhetorically referring to the origin of MAN from the story of Manu who produced the human race with his daughter - a very puranic story. The story of Adam is also similar, Eve was born out of Adam. Also the idea that all men and women are brothers and sisters. I was only saying that these things are relative and the strength depends on the circumstance. Sorry if I expressed myself poorly! I should have taken a better example: say in India: today bigamy is a crime, but 50 years ago it was not. regards Mani
