However, my problem is that there are often no easy explanantions for it. I know of one man who was an alcoholic for over 10 years and is now "dry". [data: Jan 13 1949 15:50 GMT 51N24 00W25] He has the RKA in 5/9 -- not one of 2, 4 or 8 mentioned by Robert. Rahu in his chart aspects closely Venus which is 5th and 12th lord placed in the 7th and more widely Saturn, the 8th and 9th lord in the 3rd. So Rahu makes no contact with the 2nd or 4th houses in any way. Those lords are afflicted, however, but by other planets. I think the aspect to sensual Venus as 12th lord is potentially crucial, as redirecting its Venus' heightened impulses in the 12th in Rahuvian ways could very well lead to problems with creating situations for pleasure. Not surprisingly , the man was until recently a compulsive womanizer. Perhaps we to expand our astrological profile of addiction.
