If Ve-Sat are in Cap in the 4th, Saturn rules >the 4th and 5th while Venus rules the 1st and 8th. Is this all linked to >Saturn rulership over the 5th house? By itself, not what I would have >predicted... This is a good question, and so let me give you three good answers: 1. The 5th is important for spiritual sadhana, initiations, as well as receiving mantras. These are its significations, as per Jaimini and Parasara, as well as by experience. This is because it is the 9th from the 9th, and thus carries important significations of that area of life. For Libra rising natives, the most important spiritual advancement will always occur during the dasas of Saturn, as well as Mercury. I also have Libra rising, and it was during the Vim. dasa of Saturn that I met my guru, joined his ashram, received two initiations, and the second brought the receipt of the Gayatri mantra, the effects of which can only be realized after initiation. Also, an important sign/house is the Mantrapada, or Arudha of the 5th, for initiations, mantras, and spiritual sadhana. In my partner's case, the Mantrapada is the sign of Sg, the importance of which I will explain shortly. 2. For spiritual opportunities/advancement, I use Drig dasa, which is mentioned in BPHS, and further elaborated upon by Maharishi Jaimini. Drig dasa is a rasi dasa, and seen with relation to the Mantrapada, or the Gurupada (Arudha of the 9th house), will show the time of initiation, meeting gurus or mentors, and generally advancing spiritually in life. So in my partner's case (her name is Dana), she entered the Drig dasa of Taurus, which is her 8th house, on 3/19/2000. From Taurus (using that sign as the lagna for that period of time), Venus joins 9th lord Saturn in the 9th house, a clear signal of her receiving a guru or mentor, which she has in the last two months. She is learning about vibrational healing, and is also advancing in knowledge of Bhagavad-gita and other Vedic scriptures, and she is also learning Jyotish. 3. Thus, you have to see the relation between the natal Venus/Saturn planets, and operative dasa periods, when getting a final realization of what might happen when transit Uranus, or any other outer planet, comes to join their natal positions. 4. The sub-period operating right now, as per Drig dasa, is Sagittarius, and it lasts up to 7//2001. Now, Sg is where her vargottama Atmakaraka Moon is placed, with Moon placed in the 9th house of the Navamsa (Dharmamsa) chart as well. So the period is highly charged so far as getting spiritual incentives is concerned, both by operative dasas, as well as by transit.
