Dear Robert

namaste, it is fascinant all this about MB. When i started to study vedic

astrology, i used to investigate all the rules and yogas but later on i became

stuck in certain areas only. I used to study mundane, graha & bhava balas etc &

i ended observing my clients trends. The MB is new to me & thanks to your

posting i became curious & i think that it is going to give me another

perspective of things. I think that i have in my collection of charts few

murderers & i am going to apply them.

You mention a lady

<<TODAY: I had a client with 4 planets plus the lagna all in MB! She has not

died yet, nor has she ever killed anybody, but she is a gifted telepathic healer

by profession, and has cured people of deadly diseases up to cancer. So here

again, is a variation on the theme of death, and planets

in MB.>>

I too have a karma of getting people like her, in fact i am surrounded by them.

About 15 years ago, i started to see in "spiritualists" (that is how they call

themselves but i prefer to call them spiritists like in brazil) a combination of

Mars/Rahu/Ketu/Saturn, either in conjunction or opposition and noticed that Mars

close to Ketu indicates healers, the closer the planets the more powerful their

skills. So, i read the chart to a friend of mine, a nice guy ex-miner. I told

him that his Mars & Ketu indicated healing powers. He never heard of things

like that before & asked me where to find a teacher. I sent him to the

spiritualist churches but they just laughed at him. He persisted and found a

teacher. Whitin 12 months he was healing cancer patients and doctors cancer

especialists used to send him terminal pacients & he had a good rate of success.

One day i went to see my lawyer who told me that everyone in the office used to

laugh at my friend cos they knew him before in a different way. But they change

their minds when one of their clients, an old lady was told by doctors to just

go home to die. the old lady was given only 6 weeks to live & with nothing to

lose, she went to see this healer. 6 weeks later doctors found that the cancer

dissapeared completely & she went back to the lawyers to tell them & change her

will. My friend says that he does not know how it happens but extreme heat

burst in his arms and hands. My feeling is that it is a combination of the

yellow color of Mars & the infrared of Ketu, joining together to produce those

healing energies. BTW, those colors are given by Dr Batacharya from India. I

want to apply the MB to mediums, healers and psychic people to observe what is

going on. I will report to you later. My files and old astro programes are in

a blink & a friend just gave me the GJ for christmas, so it is going to take

time to put things together.

Anyway, many thanks to help me focus my attention on the MB points.

Regards

"Mrtyu" means death, and "bhaga" means division. So the divisor, or

degrees, of death, are the Mrtyu bhaga points. These are indeed taught,

with the specific degrees for each planet in the 12 signs including

Rahu/Ketu, in the Jataka Parijata, as quoted before. Pick up a copy of JP,

if you don't already have it in your library. In any case, Mrtyu does not

mean "friendly", in fact, you will find that friendliness is the exact

opposite of what happens when planets in MB activate maraka periods, or

when they are aspected by malefics, especially Saturn, in

transit. Anyway, I do not have a scanner with this computer, and thus it

would be time consuming for me to copy all of that chapter into an email.

I think your guru is trying to reinforce basic principles surrounding

longevity in his teachings to you. Yes, you can likely see death without

taking MB into account, but then again, if there are more tools to work

with (and ones which in fact work), then so much the better for developing

a reliable predictive methodology.

Another point is the "Mrtyu-saham", which again is a degree giving death,

yet is part of the Tajaka, or Varshaphal system. Then again, there is the

"Mrtyu-pada", or the Arudha of the 8th house, that should also be taken

into consideration. According to Jaimini, the 3rd and 8th from Arudha

lagna give death during dasas related. There are also specific Ayur

dasas, i.e. dasas meant only for the purpose of timing death, which you

should definitely learn if you are going to work with longevity

studies. The most important of these, is the Shoola and Navamsa dasas, as

well as Sthira dasa.

So the basics should be learned, yes, but gradually you start adding

additional tools, and not speculative ones either, as they are all offered

for our learning by sages Parasara, Jaimini, Varahamihira, etc.

With regards,

Robert

Mrityu means death. Bhaga means division, or portion. So it's a division of

death.

>I thought Mrityu Bhaga means "death of fortune" or "death of enjoyment"

No, enjoyment is Bhoga.

Thats

Certainly, one would expect other indications as these give the confluence,

which shows Dridha karma (to use the language of Hart deFouw). One would be

in a rather uncomfortable position if one was predicting on the basis of one

factor alone. Nevertheless, from initial examination of charts, it does

appear as if Mrityu Bhaga does have it's own special significance provided

it has the support of other indications. I don't have a Scanner, but if you

can get hold of the texts, the Moon's Mrityu Bhaga is referred to in the

Phaladipika, while all the planets degrees are given in the Jataka Parijata.

I seem to remember that Prashna Marga also refers to these points although

I'm not certain.

Hope it helps,

Pursottam

Dear Natabara,

Robert has shown the importance of MB positions. But I think it is better to

note all charts where MB spots are occupied, to see how they work in non-death

associations. These spots may be "vital", but only if triggered off by some

other factor!

Mani
