In fact my ancestors left for mexico in the 16 century from a place neighbor to portugal & their dialect was a mixture of Castellano & Portuguese. In which town are you? Yes i will join the list. No hablan ustedes espanol sencilla? Solomente Castellano? Learnt a bit of spanish to propose marriage to the prima ballerina of Buenos Aires. The spanish was sufficient, the girl was willing - but her mother said NO! Actually nice lady, treated me like a son, but her daughter had to marry a true spanish Don! Don´t know if she did, though..... Not quite true: we talked mostly in English ......SHE with a most charming accent and syntax! .... oh, the past...
